How in the world is Ramsey rated higher than VH3?
|
Just watching cut ups of Ramsey...guy has really average ball tracking skills. VH3 has good hands, instincts, and plays the ball while in the air so much better than Ramsey.
I'm curious if VH3 could play some FS...or line up all around? Any Gator fans know? We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
Not sure but I think VH3 will surprise some people at the combine as well and his stock will go up
Because he's better.

His versatility and height is the only reason VH3 is a much better football player.

Ramsey is ready to play any of the 5 backfield positions tomorrow if need be. “An empty vessel makes the loudest sound, so they that have the least wit are the greatest babblers.”. - Plato

They look for corners to beat recievers up at the line of scrimmnage with their length and strength.
Quote:They look for corners to beat recievers up at the line of scrimmnage with their length and strength. Sure, he does that and still gets beat when the ball is in the air.

Jason Verrett has thrown the notion that short corners can't play at a high level in the NFL out of the window. The combination of twitch, long speed, ball skills, and elite jumping ability more than makes up for not having Richard Sherman's height or length. We show less advertisements to registered users. I never saw Jalen Ramsey make those wow plays that I saw Hargreaves make. He just didnt stick out on the field as much and at times I forgot he was out there.I assure you teams knew Hargreaves was out there. I'm not a real big size guy, and if a guy can hang with recievers and does his job incredibly well there is something to be said. Hargreaves had more PD and INT than Ramsey. Yes Ramsey can play FS in our system but at corner Hargreaves is just a better player and Id be shocked if he comes into the combine smaller that 5'11 190. Here is Hargreaves and Treadwell and Treadwell is a claimed 6'3".

I'll give you a few reasons Ramsey is higher than VH3:
1. Size - Ramsey has better size. - VH3 only 5'11" 190 lbs, maybe even less. 2. Strength - Ramsey is incredibly strong, especially when compared against Hargreaves. Often while playing corner, Ramsey would press a receiver completely off the field. 3. Overall athletic ability - Expect Ramsey to blow up the combine. 4. Tackling - This one is a no-brainer. Ramsey is a much better tackler. VH3 may be one of the worst tacklers in this defensive back class. 5. Better stats this year - VH3 allowed 16.5 yards per completion this season. Not only is this significantly more than the "top guys" Ramsey, Apple, and Alexander, it is worse than most defensive back prospects. Ramsey also gave up a lower completion percentage to wide receivers. Then again, I can give you reasons he shouldn't be: Ball skills, inability to find the ball in the air, less fluidity in the hips... He reminds me of an Eric Berry type safety. Berry could play both safety and cornerback in college, he is a moveable chess piece on a defense, his strength against the run and ability to cover big bodies 1-on-1 make him an elite safety, but I don't see him being able to cover guys like Julio Jones or Antonio Brown. Same with Ramsey. But then again, Hargreaves "real niche" on a defense isn't an outside corner either; he is much better suited for a starting slot corner.
New signature because HIGH SCORE found the periodic table offensive. Pathetic LOL

I just dont know Quote:I havent studdied him at length. If he doesnt have ball skills then hes not a top 5 corner. I just dont know He beat out a bunch of wide receivers in a "hands competition" the other day, so........... This talk of him not having ball skills is probably just talk. http://gamedayr.com/sports/college-ncaa/...ge-146148/ http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000...ompetition |
