Joey Bosa

Another Bosa-thought ... How much better would he be than (likely) fellow first rounder Jared Odrick?
And are there other positions which would see a bigger upgrade? (I'm asking that as someone who thinks Bosa would be a great pick, but think the question needs asking because Odrick isn't really a weak link for us) We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!

Quote:if we draft Bosa he would play opposie Odrick. Fowler would play otto and be moved around and play opposite Bosa in passing downs I was thinking more like Bosa plays 5T and Odrick goes to 3T. Fowler moves all around and passing downs Marks goes back to 3T, Odrick goes to 1T Bosa at 5T with marks at otto and who ever our new Leo will be on the other end.
I'd be happy with Jack, Ramsey, or Bosa - generally in that order (basic principle of snaps for each position, more snaps, more impact from a top pick). Though I'm getting more comfortable with any of the 3, rather than defining an order. Even if two of them drops to us I'd be happy trading down a spot or two.
Quote:I like Bosa at five if he's still there.Agree. He's my first preference also (if he's still there at #5). We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today! Wasn't Odrick not happy/lower production as a 3T in Miami? Coupled with Suh coming in, he was displaced. I see the Bosa to Leonard Williams comparison as very interesting.

Gus would probably also move Bosa all around like SEA does Bennett.
For reference, Bosa had 51 TFL, 26 sacks, 6 PDs in 3 years at Ohio State. Jack had 15 TFL, 1 sack, and 18 PDs in two seasons. Obviously playing different positions and roles, but that production from Bosa is amazing..
I think Odrick will still see the bulk of the load at 5 tech regardless. Unless they see Bosa as a "scheme-changer."
Odrick was kicked inside a little here and there last season - and I don't expect that to change significantly. Just my gut feeling based on what I heard Gus/Wash say in various press conferences. Moving Bosa around creatively doesn't have to dislodge Odrick from playing the majority of the snaps at big end. Hell, I just hope it's a problem we have to face. Having multiple quality options at any position beyond WR would be great. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!

Suh basically replaced him. I know Odrick was moved all around. He can play all over the line. He played some 3T for us this year. Quote:I dont remember anything about that. Unless they see Bosa as a "scheme-changer." Agreed, I could envision Bosa getting significant snaps at the 5 tech, but Odrick would still get the majority at the position. Odrick could get roughly 60% of the snaps and Bosa could get the remaining 40%. It allows both for of them to stay fresh throughout the game. Also Bosa and Fowler are versatile players and can easily be moved around depending on the down and situation. Kick either of them inside to the 3T on 3rd downs, play Fowler a bit at the OTTO, even play Bosa at the 1T in a package on some passing downs. You can never have too many good players who like to get after the QB.
I think that Jalen will be the pick at number 5 overall, but I could be wrong.

A pretty good write up on Bosa. I actually do like his comparison. Never thought of that one before. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
Let's just hope the Jaguars do their due diligence in scouting this guy. If the article is accurate, they'd be better off with Jack, Ramsay or Spence. Still need to pursue a free agent pass rusher- Vernon and then Williams seem like the 2 best.
Bosa is not the perfect DE and he may be overhyped which is why I think he falls to the Jags at Pick 5 and the Jags will be happy to take him there.
Still a reasonable comparison player is Jared Allen - formerly of the Chief, Vikings and Panthers. The Jags will be very happy if he lives up to that comparison. It is his HEART and DRIVE to be the BEST that will make him a great player for the Jags.
