Dante Fowler fight referee

Quote:I don't get it... this is... what?

Fowler and his new chick in some way shape or form cross paths with his Ex Chick. We don't know how, why, etc. To speculate is pointless.

Words are had between the two women, who obviously have beef. What that beef is, we don't know and to speculate is pointless.

The 2 women decide to throw down.

Fight commences. Dante stays off to the side.

Fight reaches awkward stalemate on the ground.

Dante separates the women, picks up his womans shoes and hits the elevator button, ensures they stay separated and boards the elevator with his woman.

What's the problem here? Because he didn't "white knight" and jump in the middle of 2 [BAD WORD REMOVED] off women? That only ever ends badly.

This forum is an odd place... usually the internet is full of E-Thugs talking about whose [BAD WORD REMOVED] they would have whooped and how badly...

Here? OH MY GOD HE DIDN'T PROTECT EVERYONE'S INNOCENCE! LIFETIME BAN!
Well said and my thoughts. And had he gotten in the middle and pushed them away from each other the headlines would have killed him. This board would have lost their minds. "He shouldn't have gotten involved" "You don't do that!".

If he had walked away they would be saying how heartless he was for leaving his woman to fight and that he's a coward.

Some people will be upset by anything and everything.

Nah.,.... but it's funny.

Real threads last about 3-5 pages.

Garbage threads are always the biggest... with a lot of back and forth from FBT and [insert poster here] lol

Classic Jaguars MB.

Sadly it's the same few posters either saying the same thing over and over or completely contradicting themselves. It's quite comical I must say! Haha.
You either die as a good poster, or live long enough to become the troll.

More pathetic hypocrisy. Speculating is pointless, yet this entire thread is filled with people speculating and assuming that the victim of the attack chose to and agreed to fight.

What you meant to say is that speculating is okay but only if it fits your agenda.

Quote:Sure he did. He stayed out of getting in the middle of a cat fight. He steps in, and we all read the headline "Fowler involved in fight with two women" and all the morally superior people have their panties in an even bigger bunch.

There were certainly more steps he could have taken to try to prevent the attack from ever happening.

Aren't you speculating by saying the woman that was mostly obscured by Dante before the fight was the 'victim'?  If we're going to speculate, let's speculate that Dante and his gf were on the way up to her apartment or a perhaps a friend's apartment.

What was Baby Momma even doing there?

Did he have a legal duty to intervene?

Do we expect pro athletes to act as "the average reasonable person" or at a higher standard of care?

The Average Reasonable Jaguar?

The Average Reasonable Pro Football Player?

The Average Reasonable Baby Daddy?

Sorry for the Torts flashback.  Carry on.

If nothing else, the video clearly shows the woman in gray is the aggressor and is the one that attacks. If you can't concede that very obvious fact then you aren't being very honest with yourself.

Color me insensitive, but I really don't think this is that big of a deal. He didn't hit anyone or do anything illegal. I doubt the fight would've completely stopped if Dante tried to break it up from the get go anyway.

It was dumb, and I don't think this means he has a bad character, but saying this was "disturbing" is highly over exaggerated.

If a co worker came in and told me a story about how he/she watched two women fight, I would have to fake being interested.

I'll assume you just decided to not read thread, so here:

"It's a non issue in terms of disciplinary action, but that doesn't mean there weren't better alternatives for how this could have been handled."

"It baffles me that people can't even admit there were likely better alternatives to the way this went down. I'm not saying Fowler is guilty of any crimes or anything of the sort, but people suggesting there weren't better alternatives to how this was handled are truly delusional."

"If that was me with my girlfriend, I strenuously object to my girlfriend confronting my baby momma. If she somehow manages to get to the point of confrontation, I do everything possible to desacalte the situation to avoid violence. I most certainly give my baby momma the option to avoid a physical altercation by allowing an exit route. I use my size and strength to make sure my girlfriend does NOT do something stupid like attack someone cornered in an elevator. If, for some reason, she still manages to attack said person, I then use my size and strength to pull her off."

Im happy he didn't blow his knee out when he pushed the other girl off. Progress baby.

I witnessed a girl fight about a month ago at a bar. I didn't break it up. In fact, no one did, except the bouncers, but that is the main part of their jobs...

Anyway, should I call the police now and tell them to set up the electric chair, or should I just execute myself samurai-style?

Wow, this is still a thing, huh?

That's a very nice summary, but it doesn't answer my somewhat tongue in cheek inquiry.

You can be negligent and fail to act to a certain standard of care and not be criminally responsible for whatever damages arose.  You may, however, be held civilly liable due to a failure to act to a certain standard of care and the resulting damages that can be proven to have a proximate link to the failure to act to the standard of care.

If your silence on the matter is to be taken as he had no legal duty, either criminally or civilly, to intervene and break up a fight, then I presume your stance is he had a moral obligation to do so.

Is that fair?

I feel that in this situation, considering Fowler's size, strength, and relationship with the aggressor, there were more desirable alternatives than allowing it to get to the point where his girlfriend cornered and attacked the victim.

To be clear, you do NOT think he had a legal obligation to stop the fight?

I think that there are things that Fowler could have done better to prevent the attack from happening.

Do you think it's possible there were better alternatives than Fowler letting his girlfriend attack the victim?
