Mackenzie Alexander, CB, Clemson

he's only allowed like 14 receptions all year
He hasn't given up a TD in over two years. He's a beast no doubt. Still like Ramsey for FS more, but I have no problem saying Alexander is probably the best CB in the class.

Episode 79 at 7:33 has some and interesting discussion about Alexander. Basically saying he is going to be one of the trickier evaluations for scouts.

I love this guy. Maybe the best interview at the combine.

he's going to be really good

5' 10

190

31, 3/8 arms

I like the player, but I wonder if the "length" factor works against him a bit too much for Caldwell/Bradley's predisposition regarding DBs.

I think he will be good as well. Not sure if he will be a number 1 corner but I do think he will be the 2nd best corner out of this class

Fun to juxtapose him vs VH3. VH3 is the ballhawk who creates a lot turnovers, but also gives up some plays especially deep and off double moves. Alexander didn't have a single INT in his entire career, but also didn't give up a single TD in his final two years and only allowed 30% completion.

It's a lot like Peters vs Darby from last year. Peters got tons of hype last year for his big plays, but he was also the most targets and most completed against corner in the entire league. Darby only had 2 INTs, but was stellar in coverage (4th best coverage corner overall by PFF...as a rookie).

Would you rather have the guy who gets a turnover every 3 games or so at the expense of also giving up a good share of big plays, or have the guy who simply doesn't give up plays? I think I would take Alexander, at least that style of player.

If you take away VH3 last 2 games of his career that is not the player you described Hargreaves to be. Not sure what the deal was with Hargreaves the last couple of games but im sure GMs will look at his whole college career body of work instead of just the last couple of games like you did. VH3 was a shut down corner his pretty much his whole college career. Hargreaves has been elite since High School when he was the number 2 prospect overall in the contry when he signed with Florida. We will see how the GMs feel in a couple months

I vividly remember that double move against New Mexico State week 1 where he got torched deep but the QB barely overthrew the WR in the end zone. In the NFL that would have been a pitch and catch 35 yard TD too. I didn't watch every snap of Alexander like I did VH3, but I don't think you're going to find multiple examples of him getting burned since he gave up zero TDs.

Here he is against Fuller, if Kizer could throw the football no telling how many yards Fuller would of had against Mackensie

I gotta side with jaggy here.  There's something about VH's size that makes me wonder how he'll handle more physical, veteran savvy WRs at the NFL level.

VH3 weighs 15 more pounds than Alexander

Certainly doesn't play like it, and has proven he doesn't have the speed to make up for his mistakes.

He is more physical as well and we will see who is the faster corner tomorrow

Yeah VH3 is the same height as Alexander but weighs 15 more pounds.

Well, since you're exaggerating the difference in weight (cbs sports has the difference at 5lbs) and you wear your Florida homerism on your sleeve, I'm sure we'll hear more exaggerations from you as well.

Of the two, for the Jaguars I'd rather look to pick up Fuller later as a better value.  Not sure we need a day one starter and he has big upside if put in a situation to grow for us.
