One problem: he's measured in small at the NFL scouting combine. He measured in at 5'10 4/8" and 204 lbs., a little bigger than the 5'10 3/8" and 190 lbs. of Mackensie Alexander. Those are less than ideal sizes for top ten cornerbacks: no cornerback has been picked at 5'10" or smaller in the top ten since at least 2000, with Leodis McKelvin as the 11th overall pick in 2008 coming closest. Height isn't an automatic disqualifier, but Hargreaves is also expected to run relatively slowly in the 40-yard dash, which would further eliminate him from the conversation.


That's especially true given the fact that Hargreaves' tape isn't quite dominant. It's good, to be sure, and he looks like he'll be a solid NFL cornerback. But that is not what NFL teams are looking to find in the top ten of any draft.

Surely you're aware that combine weights are performance weights, and not playing weights.  That many players drop weight in hopes to improve their scores?

It's not really a big deal to me Pirk. He's pretty average in weight when compared to corners across the league. Alexander plays bigger than his size anyway plus he has the frame to add more weight if needed.

My concern with Hargreaves isn't unlike the same I have with Fuller.  It's also why I like a better value later in Fuller, and see zero reason in going so high with Hargreaves.
