Joey Bosa

I think he is still an elite prospect.

Quote:Bosa was taller and heavier and whipped Dante in the agility/explosion drills that matter for DE...broad jump, 3 cone, and shuttle. 40 yard dash really means nothing, sorry.

For comparison, Bosa is a 70th percentile SPARQ athlete despite underwhelming in the 40 yard that doesn't matter...so he's really like 90th percentile in what matters.

Dante is a 30th percentile SPARQ athlete despite impressing in the 40 yard that doesn't matter...so he's really like a 20th percentile in what matters.

If the ten yard split was the same then i would hear u. Fowler was a full tenth of a second fastee in the ten yard split than bosa.

If bosa was 290 like watt id hear u. Hes was just 275.

If nosa brought home a ton of sacks id hear u.

5 in his last season?

Im not risking that in the top five.

At the end of the day Bosa had a good shuttle and 3 cone. But watching the combine, the commentators were saying that Bosa slipped several times before he actually registered a time for the shuttle and that Balance could be an issue for him

It wasn't uncommon for him to slip and fall during games too. Seemed like every game I watched him play, he ended up on the ground a handful of times.

I believe this was mentioned in his scouting report as well.

This workout doesn't preclude Bosa from being a Pro Bowl calibre player. Not in the least. Chandler Jones ran a 4.87 with 1.69 split, an identical broad jump (10.00), slightly better vertical (35 to 32), but a worse shuttle and 3 cone. Would you be happy with a player like Chandler Jones?

This. It seem like people dont realize there are levels of quality play. Watt is the exception. Players like Jones and Kerrigan were just as worthy to go top 5 after seeing their production. A good pass rusher is still worth a top 5 pick.

Anyone who says Bosa had a bad workout doesn't know which drills are important for DL. Bosa did average in the vertical, but good in the broad jump and extremely good in the even more important shuttles and 3 cone. He's a 70th percentile SPARQ athlete that I would count even higher cause he's 80th and 90th percentile in the drills that matter for DL.

I really wish DL wouldn't even run the dashes, even the 10 yard splits, because they are so useless yet that's what people fixate on.

This is how I feel about Bosa as well

McShay has him number 1 on their board

PFF has him number 1 on their board

I would be more than happy if he is our pick. Just hope Jack or Bosa is there when we pick

He's been considered a top pick for so long that he begins to fall out of favor as the draft approaches. Happens every year.

His game hasn't declined since the end of the season.

look at the clip in that video where he was triple teamed. Double and triple teams for him he seen for every game. Teams had to game plan for the guy. Fowler-Marks-Jackson-Bosa could be scary and our best pass rushing front 4 ever

It's gives people more time to nitpick any holes in their game.

He is also the only player that had a Jags shirt on in the interviews today. Hmmm

Not to mention, if every analyst on every site agreed on a player, it would be pretty boring. That "bash" certain players sometimes just to be different.

I'm more OK with bosa than I was a couple months ago. I still have Jack, Ramsey, vh3 above him but wouldn't be mad with him. As long as he makes the opposing qb pay, it'll work just fine.
Coughlin when asked if winning will be a focus: "What the hell else is there? This is nice and dandy, but winning is what all this is about."

Quote:One of those has to be ours and I'm ecstatic about getting any one of them. I'm really starting to think that Bosa may end up available at our pick tho.

Tenn: Tunsil

Clev: Goff

SD: Ramsey

Dallas: Jack

Jax: Bosa

I think the hardest part about guessing this years mock draft is many of teams trying to trade up to one of the top 3 spots with Titans & Chargers being interested in trading down...

Broncos trade with 49ers fell thru and they need a QB, but I think the Eagles are the most likely to trade up as the new HC wants his guy in there...

Then it would be interesting if Dallas drafts FS Jalen Ramsey, or Joey Bosa or trades down... I don't see Myles Jack going in the top 5 unless the Jaguars take him.. IMO

Carson Wentz, QB, North Dakota State

The NFL comp: Blake Bortles
The skinny: Both quarterbacks have big frames and are mobile outside of the pocket. Another similarity is that they both come into the league a little bit "behind" their contemporaries. Wentz is behind because of his level of competition and Bortles was behind because of the simplicity of his scheme at Central Florida.

Can you imagine the carnage Marks, Jackson and Fowler will cause if NFL teams have to double team Bosa?!
