Dolphins place transition tag on O.Vernon

I mean.... It still baffles me. How in the world can you make it to be a GM in the NFL and make that kind of pick.

Because according to Gene, Bryan Anger was a sure starter! It's hard to find a "starter" after the 2nd round.

I think it's worth us to remember just how bad he was. Smith is the reason this franchise has been so bad for so long. Caldwell has made a couple of mistakes but he's done a lot of good for the franchise that Smith had ruined.

In all seriousness, Gene Smith is arguably the worst GM in the history of all sports. I get into this debate with my friends all the time, they point to guys like Matt Millen etc... Millen wasn't great but at least he selected Megatron and couple of nice offensive linemen, the same can't be said for Gene.

You always need to remember that there are people on this board that were 100% behind Gene and the Anger pick......

It was just knee-jerking to the max. We'd have punter troubles all year so he grabbed one early to make himself feel like he was getting a GOAT punter. It's the kind of thing I'd do on Madden like if my QB threw a game costing pick I'd cut him.

Anyone on this message board could have drafted better than him. Seriously.

It was hard for him to find starters in the first round, so I get why he would say that. What a waste of time he was.

When Mike Thomas, Mike Sims and Cecil Shorts have been your best receivers in years and you have no return guy worth mentioning, how in the hell do you not take Hilton with that pick??  I was crossing my fingers for Hilton at the time.  He would have helped our ST unit as a returner so much more than Anger did kicking it away!!

I dunno... that NYC guy keeps mentioning someone by the name of "Smallwood".

I'm not making that up! Though I'm rather certain he is.

I'm trying to make myself more informed and less opinionated.

Stop saying whatever stupid thing you're talking about and pay attention to all the interesting things I have to say!

We did just sign Laurent Robinson and drafted Blackmon in the first round.

I've already seen articles saying the Raiders, Bears, Giants, and Bucs all need to make huge offers to ensure they get him. Gonna be an insane market for him.

Just have to front load the contract and the dolphins can't match. They tried to transition tag Charles Clay last year and that didn't work so well
