Which may not be that big of a deal for some guys because of the NY market and exposure...

So you expect Dave to bring in the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 5th, 8th, and 12th best FAs? Seems realistic.

Even if the Jaguars were the only team allowed to sign Free Agents they wouldn't sign all these players. Some of you are in for a real wakeup call next week...

If we don't trade a 5th for Von Miller I'm going to be mad.

lol This is my best, most realistic, if this doesn't happen I kill myself list:

1) Trade our #5 pick for Von Miller. Cha ching!

2) Sign Vernon, Jackson, Gipson, Irvin, Osemele, Allen, Mack, Williams, and Jenkins.

3) Trade our 3-7 rd picks to move back into late 1st Rd to get Jack. Double Cha Ching!

3) Draft with 2nd Rd pick Ramsey; who luckily falls due to every team forgetting about him.

CHAMPIONSHIP!!!!!

GO JAGS!!

With that said, I honestly would be very happy with:

1) Vernon

2) Gipson

3) Allen

4) Irvin

GO JAGS!!

Let's Get Em!!!! Go Jags!

Definitely need Vernon, Jackson and Weddle. Would be disappointed that we didn't land them unless it was for reasons beyond their control (they don't want to play here). I think Irvin can be had. Don't really care about the guard or running back tho that would be nice. Obvious lesser signings would be Jeff Allen and a Chris Ivory. You could also subsistute Gipson for Weddle.

My official list isn't realistic but it is ideal.

I can't imagine they won't be major players for most of those FA's. I would push hardest for Vernon and Irvin personally.

Robert Ayers

Bruce Irvin

George Iloka

Vernon Hargreaves

Justin Simmons

Javon Hargrave

Little different combo than ive ever done. Ayers and irvin help pass rush, irvin adds to LBs, iloka a great young rangy safety.

VH3 as our second outside cb, simmons can do everything imo and had a great combine, hargrave has high upside and can alternate with senderrick initially.

Jackson, Vernon, Irvin, Mack

Draft Ramsey

I know I know but it's a wish list!

The more I think about it, the more I think we are going to throw a big, front-loaded contract at Vernon that the Fins cannot possibly match.    With the release of Clemons and Beadles,  we have so much cap room we can throw a big front loaded contract at Vernon and still go about trying to sign as many targeted  players as possible.   There's almost no way we can spend too much money.   We have that much cap room.      We have so much cap room, we can front load these contracts for year one and have massive cap room next year.

Most other teams would not tie themselves up for a week waiting to see if Miami can match their offer.  We have so much cap room, we are in a situation where we will either get Vernon or not, and it doesn't affect any other offer we can make to any other player.

It sure looks to me like free agency could not be teed up any better for us.

I agree. Dave made a comment about having Freeney and Mathis in Indy and needing two guys like that in Jax. He has one piece in Fowler and I think Vernon will be the other guy.

I think we need a few high profile and a bunch of mid tier players. Who are ascending. Rookies will take time to develop and no garentee.

I know there's no way we get both Vernon and Malik (especially if Irvin is as likely as it possibly seems), so I'd rather have Malik out of the two. I think Malik would help Marks and Odrick with the DL rotation pass rush more than Vernon will help Fowler and Irvin with the EDGE pass rush.

I'd like this a lot and I think it's a realistic possibility. Add Ramsey Jack or Bosa and look out.

Remember most of the NFL teams have tons of money. Go to Over The Cap website. It is sick how much money is there. If we get one of the above it will be a miracle.

Quote:Now go look up which position has the most players paid over $10 million per year and you'll see it's WR by a healthy 30 or 40%.

I know DEs and DTs are getting paid. I never said they weren't. However, a LDE which is a non-premium position, getting paid like Julio or AJ is ridiculous. If we were talking about Vonn Miller, sure $14 million plus... Not Malik freaking Jackson though. How many 4-3 LDE's are getting paid over $10 million in the NFL? The answer is one and he's about to get cut (Charles Johnson). After he gets cut, the highest paid LDE's in the NFL will be Jared Odrick, Carlos Dunlap, and Michael Bennett between $7 and 8.5 million.

Anybody who pays Malik Jackson significantly more than $10 million will significantly regret that decision and will be asking for a restructure as early as the following season.

Nope.
