disappointed we didnt get him.  but i can understand having a limit on overpaying.  we were gonna over pay him. the giants just went stupid money on him.

How are they going to afford to keep OBJ? he will probably demand a contract of no less than $90 million. Vernon's a great player but this is stupid.

There's no reason to commit that kind of money to just 2 Players from 1 FA. No ones saying Vernon sucks now that we didn't get him. If we didn't get Jackson I would of been more inclined to make a splash with Vernon.

That's how I'm feeling.


Plus I have a friend who's a Dolphin fan... He says Vernon is good, but sometimes an [BLEEP] and wouldn't be the worst if he left.

I'm simply saying that I understand our not getting him.


Yes. Spend. Overpay. But there's a reasonable limit and NYG obviously drew that line further than we did.


Bummed not to land him, but I'm OK with it.

This.  Vernon might be very good next year, but he might have 7.5 sacks again.  I don't know if 30 million for next year is worth that production.  I have never paid attention to him play, and I know he was high on all the FA lists, but 30 million for next year?  That is, that is just soooo much money.
