Ayers is fine, but he shined as an interior pass rusher on passing downs. He is so redundant to what we already have...

Ayers isn't terrible. He's no way as good a signing as Vernon would have been (mainly due to age) though. I'd probably be okay with Ayers on a cheap 2/3 year contract I guess.

There is still the draft and free agency isn't over dude. No FS's have even been signed yet. Center was doodoo in FA this year in the first place, which is why they've been talking about Cann and Linder sliding there.

No he's not, but he was clearly the best edge rusher on the market. I just don't know what this team is going to do at that position next year if they aren't able to land a stop gap like Ayers.

we need to address other needs.  Let's get Weddle and have him play FS.  Sign a guard or center.  We will need more than just Malik Jackson to help out this pathetic defense

Less than 24 hours ago there were like 3 full pages in a row that were 'good as gold' for all 3 of Malik, Vernon, and Irvin too...what a wild FA period.

To be honest, I'd be more than happy with them to draft a guard in the 3rd (that seems to be work well for us) and slide Linder over to centre.
