Trump Can't Win

Quote:She was basically fired because of her incompetent handling of the business, including the disastrous merger with Compaq. But hold on, wait wait wait. We won't blame Fiorina for the downfall of HP because the dot-com bubble popped, but we will blame Donald Trump on his Atlantic City casinos when Atlantic City crashed? Fantastic. Was the merger with Compaq disastrous? From the article. Quote: There are 10 kinds of people in this world. Those who understand binary and those who don't. Quote:Who's trolling? I simply answered your question with my own opinion. So hp gets a pass for the tech bubble but trump mortgage is on the hook for tge housing bubble? Huh.
Quote:So hp gets a pass for the tech bubble but trump mortgage is on the hook for tge housing bubble? Huh. Nobody's getting a "pass". To quote TRM (the bold parts are mine). Quote:... So which one is the truth? Is it that he was so savvy that he said in 2006 that real estate was a good investment, or him saying in hindsight that he knew that it was a bubble waiting to explode? I haven't really looked into Trump Mortgage LLC yet, but it would be interesting to see the number of sub-prime mortgages made at the time, and if the company actually held on to the mortgages or sold them off. My bet is the latter in other words, preying on the ill-informed borrower to make money. There are 10 kinds of people in this world. Those who understand binary and those who don't.
LOL, I started to look into Trump Mortgage and came across this gem.
A few quotes from the article. Quote: It only gets better. Quote: </div> You can't make this stuff up. His followers think that he's some "prestigious" business man, but when looking into some of the facts and details, it looks more like he is a con man. The bottom line is, if it's a Hillary vs. Trump general election, I'll probably either write in a candidate or stay home (actually go to work). There are 10 kinds of people in this world. I think the USFL failure is a really defining thing.
Did what he wanted, for his own selfish interests, and drove it dead into the ground. Went back on an agreement, which was struck in the best interests of the league, and made rash decisions that ensures the demise of the league. Big bluster, I'll sue, I'll sue, and got what he deserved, $3.00. The ESPN thing on it was great too, and also defining, as he refused to deal with his own massive failure. It'll be interesting when (and if....) his tax returns come out. Quote: Frankly that's just beneath you. 1.) I respect Carly Fiorina as much as you do. The plain fact of the matter is that she got it wrong when she made the deal with APPLE to host the I-pod. just like Steve Jobs got it wrong with the LISA, and the CUBE, just like XEROX got it wrong dumping the OS that would later become windows, just like Thomas Edison got it wrong with the first 9,999 ittirations of the incandescent light bulb. The support for Trump is based on the fact that he is a very good business man, not that he's perfect because no one is or has been. Ray krock was teetering on the verge of bankruptcy a handful of times. As he has correctly stated, he has a company that has physical real estate assets that are some of the best and most recognizable in the world. He has dealt with deals on the international stage and has real time experience dealing with China japan etc. etc. etc. He also has access to a team of private sector talent that no candidate will have. That's a singular skill set that can't be denied simply by throwing up a handful of deals that didn't work out in the face of a multi billion dollar corporation. 2.) With all due respect, the idea that Trump University is less Nefarious than the running of the Clinton Foundation while She sat as secretary of state is a little silly. Trump Mortgage vs. the repeal of Glass Stegal that lead to the crux of the derivative crisis that turned the capitalist system into a blue screen? She's still being underwritten by the banks that made billions betting against both sides and when the machine broke just got more coins from the taxpayers. Frank Raines was the head of their OMB for crying out loud. Go look him up and tell me if that holds a candle to a Real estate Seminar.
Quote:Frankly that's just beneath you. First off... how is my comment "beneath me"? When it comes to Carly Fiorina, it's been proven and talked about many times that in hindsight, she was actually right in her decisions. Donald Trump's "deals" are not created or done by Donald Trump. You said so yourself. However, he does put his name on them and takes credit for the deals that make money. Why doesn't he do the same with the failed deals? Starting Trump Mortgage in 2006 was a "good deal" because in his view (paraphrasing) "real estate is a good investment for the long term"? How did that work out since the company failed less than two years later? Add to the fact that they were part of the problem. Loaning money to people that THEY KNEW could not afford it, then sell the debt on the market. Yes that was a "good deal" in that he was able to make money. The real details about how he did so aren't as pretty. If you're going to try to defend "Trump University", then please stop. It was not in fact a "university" it was a seminar that people paid for in order to learn his "real secrets to real estate investing".... only if they pay a "small fee". In other words... it was a scam. He supposedly "hand picked the 'instructors'", yet there is evidence that he was not personally involved with the "company". Keep believing what he says because after all, he will say what is necessary to get elected. It doesn't matter if it's the truth or not (sounds similar to somebody that rhymes with Hillary Clinton). You don't hear a lot about this right now, but if he gets the nomination and the general election starts up, you will see a lot more of this. There are 10 kinds of people in this world. Those who understand binary and those who don't. Quote:2.) Hey everyone!! It's great to see everyone still posting. I've been lurking through the jungle the last couple months and just wanted to put in my two cents.
First off, it's absolutely fascinating watching the republican party implode like this. And I got to admit, it's also quite satisfying. I never thought I'd be sitting here watching Donald trump rip the GOP apart. But let's face it, trump resonates with a specific segment of the population. And that segment cannot be swayed. Last week, the GOP threw everything at trump, and it made only a dent in his popularity. His core demographic makes up about 35 to 40 percent of registered republicans. His polling dipped last week as the full brunt of the GOP was aimed at him. He had gotten up to 49 percent naturally right before the assault... he dropped down to 35 after the assault, and now he's back up to 40 percent as of last night according to CNN. This proves that trump will not lose as long as there are 3 or more candidates running. Trump's base stays strong, and the other candidates are splitting the rest. The problem is that little Marco and lying teddy aren't getting out until after next Tuesday at the earliest. That looks like it's gonna be too late. I don't see how trump isn't the nominee if he wins ohio and Florida next week. And if nobody is dropping out, he's gonna win those two primaries next week.

The sweat box may have to drop out just to save face for the rest of his political career. What Trump is about to do to sweaty man would be devastating. Little Marco's career I think is already over, it just won't be official until Tuesday. They guy is the epitome of a do nothing Senator inside the biggest do nothing Congress of all time. He'll make his millions being a shill of some private bank, but it's obvious that his political career is over. Christie destroyed him, he's got the sweat thing going, and then his childish attacks are something that even republican voters clearly have rejected coming from an supposed "establishment" politician. The dude hung himself, Trump just supplied the rope! Bye little Marco--- Don't give him back his coat!!!

Hey TAM, haven't heard your drivel in quite a while. Regarding the first part in bold, I never would have thought that I would see that either, but somehow some way it's happening, and I think that primarily it's because most conservative leaning people (as well as liberal leaning people) are sick and tired of establishment career politicians. I do believe that it's going to backfire, and we are going into the next 4 years weakened even more. As far as the second part in bold, I tend to to think of this as "Hope and Change 2.0". The segment of the population that believes what is coming out of Trump's mouth actually believes that he will/can do what he says. On the left side of the aisle the same can be said regarding Bernie Sanders. The socialist agenda believed by a small segment of the democrat party is what is driving him to victories over the criminal (Hillary Clinton). The demographics (I suspect) that make up Bernie Sanders supporters are probably pretty much the same as those of Trump. A Trump vs. Sanders general election will be the downfall of this country as we know it. I'm not sure if there is a "lesser of two evils" there. The same could be said about a Trump vs. Clinton general election. At this point, I'm throwing my support to Ted Cruz. He is the only anti-establishment candidate with enough common sense to run the country. I think that Marco Rubio made a fatal mistake when he started on the personal shots at Trump. Presidential elections have turned into a popularity contest rather than vetting a person and qualifications for the job. More attention is made towards appearance and demeanor rather than what comes out of their mouths. It's all about "one-liners" and "sound bites" rather than substance. In my opinion, this country is in big, big trouble. There are 10 kinds of people in this world. Those who understand binary and those who don't. He had the most sensible plan regarding so many things, yet he made the fatal mistake of dropping down to Trump's level and went on a personal attack. The best alternative at this point is Ted Cruz. Ya poor Rubio. He only had all of Fox News behind him from the start and millions of dollars from the donor class. So sad.
Every debate was orchestrated to attack Trump and the GOP has been trying to shove Rubio down the public's throat. Ya man, poor guy couldn't catch a break. Quote:It's kind of sad actually. What specifically were these sensible plans u speak of. |
