Just curious what everyone's take is on this kid. First off I DO NOT follow college football. The reason I ask is because my brother who is almost exclusively a college football fan keeps bringing him up was someone we should take as our qb.

Just wanted to get your thoughts.

He is a good college player, but not someone we will draft. Maybe take as an un drafted FA, but don't expect Jax using a pick on him. He is like a Tebow from a weaj conference.

I think I read that Lynch is fully willing to switch positions if that's what it takes. Maybe that's the feedback he's already hearing.

He's a complete non prospect as a QB, but if he switches to an RB/TE/hback hybrid James Casey type I think he has some potential as a late round flier.

The kid is a baller and I wouldn't be opposed to having him in teal. He's got playmaker potential at a different position and this team could always use those.

Northern Illinois QB Jordan Lynch is a dual-threat quarterback. In college, those are viable assets because they can erase poor to non-existent coaching and poor play-calling. In the pros, they get torn up really fast and carry a life-expectancy of about six years.

 

The best dual-threat quarterback generally accepted to ever make it to the NFL is Michael Vick. He played eight games as a rookie behind Chris Chandler finishing with a 62.4 passer rating.

 

Only four of his first six years in the league were nearly complete seasons. 2003 he missed 11 games. His career fumbles are unclear. ESPN lists 52 in his passer stats, and 38 in his rushing stats.

 

Since returning to the NFL in 2009, Vick has missed a total of 19 games for the Eagles as of the end of last season. He has played in six games this year.

 

I think a dual-threat quarterback option is one NOT worth considering.
