Quote:Really?

I thought he said they were looking to find different ways to use him and that was a possibility. When did you hear that?

During his intro conference as the DC. He said Fowler would be moved around the DLine but would not play OTTO. He may still blitz standing up but it won't be called the OTTO.

So really it's semantics.

To expound on point I made on @NFLNetwork, Jags interested in Ayers at right price. At this point, around NFL, monster deals are far & few.

Gotcha

Blitzing from the strong side backer spot - but not the "Otto" role.

Wouldn't be opposed to Okung or Wendell either even though Wendell is older.

You don't just jump Miami to go to Jville when you're in Tampa for no reason. I'm not saying anything is concrete here, but there's a reason you do this. If you planned on seeing Miami regardless, why go back n forth? Doesn't make sense legistically.

GO JAGS!!

Let's Get Em!!!! Go Jags!

Ayers,Fowler and Ryan Smith would be a good rotation

While this is true, I saw a report saying he is still going to visit Miami after Jacksonville.

Finished with my tailspin from not getting Irvin or Vernon. Still some decent players left. If we can land 2 more players that are starters, I would be much happier. Okung and Ayers, and/or Prince too. Plus top 5 pick for defense...should be poised to be much better this year.

Did Ayers take a car or flight to Jax? If he was picked up in a car he should be arriving in town right about now

Damn near. In the same way a LEO is a DE.

OTTO is just a SAM with an occasional hybrid role.

At least that's my understanding.

It was disappointing missing out on Vernon but im glad Caldwell is building this team with the right pieces at the right value. This will be a team that is young and beastly. I really have respect for this approach.

People thought we were gonna be handing out bad contracts left and right *cough giants and tinhorns cough* but the reality is this team will be poised to go on a 8-12 year run very soon while those team are breaking down and in cap hell.

Would anyone like a pick-up of OL Andre Smith?
