Then assuming the competition here in the United States will build factories and sell products domestically because it'll be cheaper than importing china made goods. But think about it it will be cheaper than adding whatever tax he levy's against China imported goods. Either way the price of goods is guaranteed to go up unless he convinces China to do whatever he wants. What I'm hearing is another reason for more government, higher taxes and an increase in the cost of goods?

That's not what he's said, he's said essentially that raising taxes on the consumer to punish corporations isn't a good idea. You want manufacturing back in the united states, you'll have to address union issues requiring triple if not quadruple the wages and benefits paid overseas and the regulations only found this side of the pond. The reality is our society has out-grown the expectations the manufacturing industry can sustain instead we should be creating an environment conducive with small business startups which will always bring more wealth to the middle class than a manufacturing job.

Trump is honest, doesn't promise everything, and isn't afraid to admit he will rely on the smartest minds for certain issues. That is why he is great.
