What will make you happy, for me to drool over the teams free agency signings. I've said in many threads. I like what we've done but we did not fix our most glaring need on this team which likely cost this team wins last season, you can continue to tow the company line (because that's what you do ) all you want, but its still our biggest need.

By the way, we are far from a superbowl so stop mentioning it.
Like you have any room to call someone out about worthless posts.

Maybe one day, if you ever finally grow a pair, you will figure out that whining like a little sissy isn't a contribution.

We don't need a constant reminder of how pathetic you are. We all already know.

Luke cost the Jaguars many of games in the last few years & Blake's health is at risk with him in play.

Quote:Maybe Luke goes back to RT? Would the line be Beachum, Cann, Bowanko, Linder, Parnell? Did we just indirectly bench Joeckel?

We almost certainly kissed his fifth year option goodbye.

The two aren't exclusive, sugar britches.

People with a pair don't have the need to tell people every little thing that they are unhappy about over and over and over again. They suck it up and move on.

Quote:Spot on.

Awesome. I love this off season

I was trying to explain to a co-worker (big time Steelers fan) the waves of emotions us Jaguar fans go thru, witness and take part in on this board. Its really quite funny. Kinda cute too Smile

Yeah I am definitely excited about this signing....this certainly makes us stronger regardless of outcome!

I would hazard a guess and say Joeckel is not going to win a competition at LT against Beachum if he's healthy, but hey! who knows?

They is a strong pickup. We have needed an upgrade on the O-Line and this is a step in the right direction! It is difficult to not be excited about this free agent group. Possibly 5 new starters via free agency.........how many more days until the season starts???????????

Why wouldn't they. You definitely want the combo of Joekel and Beachum at LT. Anything else would be risking Bortles' health.

Quote:I don't think Joeckel gets traded before the start of the season.

If he gets traded, it will be a Monroe type trade once Beachum is healthy enough to take the starting role, assuming he beats Joeckel out (not really a stretch, but maybe our LT of the future suddenly feels motivated?).

What the team should be hoping for is that Joeckel comes in and makes a real competition of it, but at the end of the day still loses the starting gig.  They'll have good film of him that other teams can use to offer up something...anything in trade.  Will a deal get done?  Probably not, in which case, you've got experienced depth on the bench.

Agreed. If there is a trade to be made, it will be made in October...not March.

That said, I can't stress the importance for having depth at OL late in the season. If you really go through the Jaguars history with this one aspect in mind, you should begin to realize just how crucial it can be to have such depth. That is to say, the Jaguars have lost quite a few seasons simply because they didn't have backup LT in December.

Quote:...perhaps they let the loser start at right tackle over Parnell.

With Beachum considered a bit small for a LT, he's even more undersized at RT where you want a big guy. Joekel was out of place when he started at RT, and that's partly why Monroe was traded. They might be factoring in the possibility for depth at both spots, but I don't see either player supplanting Parnell.

According to Espn, there is a $10 million roster bonus due to Beachum next offseason.   So we either restructure in a year, sign him to a new contract, or it's one and done.   It basically makes it a one year prove-it type of deal, unless he turns out to be so great we are willing to pay him that roster bonus.

Great signing on many levels. Joeckel now has competition. The FO can't say they didn't try really hard to make this team better.

No pain, no gain.

And this is why we don't see people constantly complaining about BklynJag's negativity, am I right?

The truth?

The truth is that we aren't done yet. It's March. There is still plenty of time to make trades, draft players and then pick up other teams discarded players.

10 minutes into a movie "Man... Truth is.... this movie sucks."
