Kelvin Beachum

With the current talent he sure stands at great shot at winning the role.

Sample at SS excites me a lot more than Cyp.

A $ 10 million franchise tag would be a bargain for the Jaguars in 2017 if Kelvin Beachum gets back to his pre-injury form and performances like one of the top pass blocking LTs in the NFL.   Especially,  considering the Jaguars should be in very good shape salary cap wise again.

Well maybe thats because we have seen how bad cyp is and have yet to see how good or bad sample will be

Do you trust our depth at LB?

I absolutely agree.  I think they'd rather lock him up if he does an awesome job, but if they need more time then $10M isn't a bad deal for one year.

It's not too shabby. When we get our OTTO then Skuta becomes a fantastic backup OLB, Tripp already provides decent depth, and Armbrister might step it up a notch in year two. I'm also interested in seeing more of Joplo Bartu to see if he's got some game in him.

FWIW, Boselli thinks Joeckel could play guard if Beachum beats him out.

What did he base that on?

It was Jaguars Thursday, but the gist of it was that Joeckel doesn't necessarily struggle with power rushers. It's when pass rushers convert speed to power is when he gets himself into trouble. Boselli also mentioned that Joeckel held his own when he he did go up against DTs.

He shows up in any thread, he considers it "his" and everyone else is stalking.

If Luke Joeckel is moved to Guard,  he will potentially be following the path of former Raiders 1st Round pick Robert Gallery.  The latter was the # 2 pick overall in 2004 and after not living up to expectations at LT,  he went on to be a much better LG.

I am interested to see if Sean Porter can come back to form.  He's a good player, just has had a bunch of injuries (labrum, hamstring, ACL....) since coming into the league.
