My QB Rankings

#1

QB Big Board

1. Brandon Allen Arkansas (2nd rd)

2. Jared Goff California  (2nd rd)

3. Dak Prescott Mississippi St (3rd rd)

4. Connor Cook Michigan St (3rd rd)

5. Cardale Jones Ohio St  (4th rd)

6. Carson Wentz N Dakota St (4th rd)

7. Jacoby Brissett NC St (4th rd)

8. Jeff Driskel  LaTech (5th rd)

9. Kevin Hogan Stanford (6th rd)

10. Jacob Coker Alabama (6th rd)

I'm not sold on Wentz or Lynch due to the lack of opposition and for Wentz lack of play. He missed half the year and has limited tape. Guys are also running wide open all over the place. The shocker here is Allen. I am an SEC fan, so bias is here, but I watched him play LSU and MISSST and this guys lets it rip. He will sit and get killed but throws a frozen rope to his recievers. I have never seen so many "big boy" throws in one game as Allen did against MISSST. He threw it seemed like 50 throws that I just sat back and said how? I dont really know why he isnt being talked about. I believe, like I did in McCarron, that he is the best QB in this draft. I know the size isnt there but the skill is. He can do it all and is the prototypical pocket passer of the 1990's.

Allen - He gets a big fat no from me just because of his 6'1 size. It is a rare thing for a QB at that size or smaller to become a franchise QB. There are only a handful in NFL history. He also stares down his receivers to the point of obsession.

I would take every single guy on your list ahead of Allen.

Yea LOL to the 31 teams who didnt take McCarron because he was a "game manager" and fell to the 6th rd and then outplayed Dalton or San Diego for taking Leaf 2nd overall or the Bills for taking EJ Manuel like 16th overall.

I thought we were past the size thing. Wilson, Brees, Dalton, Romo. He didnt get hurt and his frame is fine unlike Mariota. Yea he looks down safeties but Wentz doesnt even know what a safety is yet. Idk how a guy from ND st gets such high praise and only played a handful of games this year is the best qb in the nation coming out. Ooh he is 6'6" and can run fast. How did that work with Gabbert who had similar size, speed, and stats.Dude hasnt even played in a big game, or a big crowd, or against a linebacker who can kill him, or a safety who baits him. How do you draft a guy 2nd overall and not even seen him play, just going off athletic ability and size. I dont see anybody as a 1st rd talent but really? Carson Wentz?

Thats why the Browns are the ones to draft him. What could be more Browns? Oh yea I forgot a 31 yr old rookie. I dont see a jump from 3rd rd where most analysts have him going to the top of the 2nd for me.

Dalton and Romo are 6'2. I said 6'1 and under. It is a fact of NFL history that quarterbacks 6'1 and under do not become franchise guys. Sure, you can list the tiny group of guys that have, but that doesn't make it the norm. It proves they are rare. Size matters. It always has and it always will.

By the way, I agree about Wentz. I don't know how this kid is rated so high. There just isn't enough tape to go on.

Wentz had a week of detailed evaluation at the Senior Bowl.

He has good pocket awareness, from the video I saw but CBS knocks on him for having small hands & state the talent on Arkansas made him look better than he is... i dunno I dont see him going in the 1st round...

Allen will go in the 3rd or 4th round.

I see a little Drew Brees in him.

I agree it does matter but when a kid can play, I'm gonna give him a shot and for what its worth he is 6'1"1/2. Wentz yea I dont get it at all.
