If physical attributes were the one thing that governed a prospect's grades, then Shawn Oakman should be the #1 overall pick.

Yeah its not the only thing, but Ansah (same as JPP) were a bit different because they were both very new to the game. When you have someone young, with the physical traits, and hasn't been coached, you can see the "potential" as opposed to a guy who looks like a physical freak, plays in a big time program, has been around the game, but it just doesn't show.

 

One thing with Ansah was teams needed to find out if he had the instincts, work ethic, and coach ability to translate his physical traits into football success. The Lions worked with him extensively in the SB, and apparently checked those boxes so they made the pick.
