Mackenzie Alexander, CB, Clemson

Quote:Ouch x2.
VH3 simply got caught peeking on some double moves. That happens to everyone from time to time. It also happened to him week 1 of the season against New Mexico State. It's probably not a coincidence that it happened against players you would consider lower tier players, as biting on a double move is more lack of concentration than anything. He just got lazy against a couple guys he knew he was vastly superior too and it burned him. That's not really a major red flag to me.

I agree, Tom Brady and Peyton Manning have both had 4 int games so they suck. Their great careers dont matter

This is a legitimate knock on Vh3 though. He does have a tendency to look at the QB too much and gamble. If he doesn't have the eye discipline in college, it will be an even further bigger issue in the pros where the QBs will look you off if they catch this tendency.

Also, in talking about Gratz (or maybe House) when benched, this was one of the things Gus stated this defense emphasizes, if I am not mistaken

Quote:Cmon, you are talking about a kicker and a corner most consider the best CB in the draft.  Just a little bit of a difference lol
Sorry dude. It's really not.

It's ok to be a homer. Lots of people are. But if VH3 played for Virginia Tech? You would not be having a lengthy discussion about him. If Aguayo played for Wisconsin, no one on this entire board would be wanting to use a 5th rounder for him.

Vh3 was hyped by national media and gator homers alike. This past season was probably more Gators fans because vh3 had those couple bad games that have been discussed.

Him being a premier talent/corner wasn't created by gator fans though. So I have to disagree. Wherever he played, people would be talking about him.

Agreed.  I'm not a Gator fan at all but he'd be first round talent no matter where he was at.

I know, he's the Marcus Peters of this draft. He's overrated in real life cause he had so many INTs, but he also led the league in targets and completions allowed. VH3 is the same style.

I'll take the Ronald Darby that simply doesn't give up plays. Plenty of people would rather have the guy that gives up plays but also makes plays. Kind of a preference thing I guess.

What are you talking about, VH3 is the top rated CB in the draft, outside of Ramsey who is mostly viewed as just a DB, so why would nobody on this board be talking about him?

I guess the rest of the nation are the state of Florida bias to since they have Ramsey and VH3 as the top DBs and Aguayo as the top kicker

I think you're missing the point here.

I'm not saying VH3 is a bad prospect. And Aguayo might be a great kicker. But they would both be terrible reaches if we drafted them. VH3 is not worth the #5 pick. He's just not. He's not even the top rated corner for some people.

You never draft a kicker.

But because they both played here and people have emotional attachments to them, they want the Jags to draft them at all costs.

People want Aguayo because Meyers sucked at extra points and costed us like 2 games with missed kicks

I havent seen many people say they want VH3 at all cost, most people want Ramsey and Jack, Bosa being next, VH3 has been one of the next players if we miss out on those guys.

That's mackensie alexander. Doesn't give up plays. Vh3 could really flourish in the NFL though, with the game changing plays.

I have them rated out pretty evenly, but I believe Alexander can be bad a lot later so he is higher value.

You're telling me that VH3 was playing is final game for Florida, in a bowl game, and he couldn't stay focused? That's not good. I'd like to have players giving max effort, especially when it's something as important as their final game for playing for their university.

Sure, but the people that would take VH3 over 1 or more of those guys all appear to be Florida fans. Those are the people Frail and I are rolling our eyes at.

Right, but I'm pointing out that Florida fans are willing to bend over backwards to make excuses for VH3 when he plays bad. "He had nagging injuries", "He wasn't trying because he knew the WR was inferior", etc. How about just admitting that he has flaws and a mediocre duo (Rudock/Chesson) were able to expose him. If VH3 bites on Chesson's double move, there should be concern what an elite route runner like Amari Cooper would do vs VH3.

The Florida fans that won't even recognize that as a concern are blind.

Bingo.

Are there a lot of people saying VH3 is their #1 prospect on their board?  I'd be fine getting him but not over Bosa or Jack.

Same thing I have said, Jack and Bosa are at the top of my board. Not sure where he gets that from.

1 would apply to Ramsey. You would apply to being a Florida fan.

Struggle with comprehension?

Not at all but it's clear you do. Its probably common with Michigan fans. I replied to Markulous who asked if there are a lot of people saying VH3 is the number 1 prospect on their board. I replied not sure where he gets that from because thats what you are acting like.

The point is, I'm not acting like that. You're making that up.

I quite clearly said:

"Sure, but the people that would take VH3 over 1 or more of those guys all appear to be Florida fans."

"1" does not mean over all three. You're pretty slow.
