What Round Will We Draft Dak Prescott?
|
I pretty much know, as do most of us on this board, that Dave is salivating over the idea of drafting this QB to serve as Blake's backup. Thi$,in turn; will make Henne and his contract expendable.
So the question remains. What round will we take him? I'm thinking if he's there in the 4th. What say any of you?

better uses of a 4th round pick. Maybe the 5th if he's still there.

Prescott will get grabbed up by another team with an aging QB much earlier than the Jags are willing to pick him.
I do not see Dak Prescott, making it past the 5th round. The Jets would be nuts to let Dak pass by them. I see the Jags either drafting a QB in the 6th round or waiting on the undrafted group.

If we draft Dak, then we could trade Bortles for Brady and Von. It's a good option to have in our back pocket.
Shock the world
I don't see any reason to dump Chad Henne. He's a solid veteran backup, and we don't need a young developmental QB. We already have one of those, and he's starting for us. Also, I don't think we want to carry 3 QBs on the active roster, so any good young developmental QB we draft could be poached off our practice squad.
Besides, what the heck would we do with a guy like Dak Prescott, anyway? Coughlin when asked if winning will be a focus: "What the hell else is there? This is nice and dandy, but winning is what all this is about."
Dak is going to go very late. He isn't a prototypical NFL QB and he has some red flags.

He sucks. Pass. African American version of Tim Tebow without the ugly throwing motion.
I do not see us using a draft pick on a QB while we have "our guy" in place. The backups will be free agent vet types, or undrafted projects/practice squad guys, imo.
Quote:He sucks. Pass. African American version of Tim Tebow without the ugly throwing motion. His race is irrelevant. And he's not nearly as bad a QB as Tebow was. And won't be way over drafted the way Tebow was. Dak could come in to a Dallas situation and sit behind Romo for 2-3 seasons and be pretty good down the road. That all being said... yeah we don't need to, or should have any want to, draft him. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!

No thanks. Henne is a solid backup for now.
Not to mention Dak is not an NFL qb. |
