Anyone here into camping? My almost 5 year old daughter wants to go camping. I haven't gone since I was a kid. Thinking Hanna park is a good choice.

I used to backpack and camp a lot in my teens and twenties

Now I'm too old and fat.

I still have a sweet flashlight though!

I used to go camping in the Keys a lot. Now "camping" is roughing it in a 2nd-rate motel.

I'm not familiar with camping near Jacksonville, but there are several springs west of there that have camping. Ginnie Springs is pretty nice.

The last time I camped in Duval was about 9 years ago out at the jetties, AKA Hugenot (sp?) Park. Site 54 IIRC was the perfect spot.

I think that's the plan for next weekend. If it goes well we will venture into the wild...and by wild I mean well lit campground with indoor plumbing available

Somewhere like that is "okay" in my opinion.  To get the real experience, research places in the Osceola Forest.  Find an area that is near a small "lake" or pond.  Catch your food with an ultra light rod (bream or maybe even some small bass).

Just my opinion.  "Camping" out at the beach isn't really camping.

It will be camping for my 4 year old who's never slept outside before. I don't want to go all out, spend a bunch of money on camping supplies and drive hours just to see if she likes it. If she does enjoy it, and I hope she does, then we'll venture out a bit further.

We Camp at least once a year, right now we stick to non-primative sites cause the kids are young but I used to do primative camping prekids days. I kinda like having at least a portable near by in my old age, don't judge.

My wife and I are fairly confident that one of our children was conceived in a tent during a camping trip. Camping is fun.

I'm pretty sure it wasn't the camping part that was fun...

If the team drafts DB Jalen Ramsey playing with Gipson, Prince & House with a healthy Fowler, Marks, Jackson, Odrick, Telvin & Poz combined with an improved Offense we might see people camping out to buy Jaguar tickets...no

more tarps to cover seats

GO JAGUARS!!

How feasible is it for a Floridian to find some mountains to camp in? Is that a thing at all?
