NCAA Not Happy With Michigan's Spring Break Practices

Quote:Pirkster is hard to take serious when he still stands by Harbaugh being a bad hire.

Even Trav, Josh, and Miss Bunnie can admit it was a good hire. Pirkster? His ego won't let him admit it for some reason.

He's a good hire, but after the last few months he just seems a bit too reactive to things that bug him. He likes to try and make people look bad like his comments about Hugh Freeze. It's unnecessary and makes him look childish.

Will he be attending the NFL Draft, like the long list of NCAA head coaches who have players in the draft... such as those likely to be drafted on day one...

I think it's fine that Harbaugh and the Michigan fans keep banging that drum that this is about recruits and getting more visibility.  Both sides fought for this for self serving interests.  Harbaugh wanted better recruits and the chance at having up close and personal time with the Florida kids, and the SEC/ACC wanted him out of the picture.

Let's call it what it is....selfishness on both sides.  There really is no right or wrong here because they are both doing the same thing.

Can smaller schools go to bigger schools' camps like in the past? Or are all coaches required to stay within 50 miles of their campuses? Because that has greater implications if no one can coach the camps.

My quote function doesn't seem to be working.

I don't see an issue with the coach coming down during the summer and holding camps for the high school kids, I just think bringing your whole team is a bit excessive.

But is that what a satellite camp entails?

This. Last year Urban held a summer camp at FAU for high school kids. Worked out for both schools because it's not like they were going after the same kids. The ones Ohio were after, FAU didn't have a chance with, but the ones that weren't up to par for Ohio might become interested in FAU...win win for both schools. And no one said boo about it either, because it was at a college...not at a high school campus.
What in the Wide Wide World of Sports is agoin' on here???

The side that really suffers from this is the recruits

No, they can't anymore.

He's playing to the fan base and the fan base loves it. After 4 years of Jolly Ole St. Hoke and the worst 7 year stretch in Michigan football history, Harbaugh is a very nice shot in the arm. Players / recruits seem to like it, too.

Jake Butt and Jourdan Lewis both returned to play one more year at Michigan. Butt would have been the #1 tight end in the draft and Lewis probably a top 5ish CB.

Trust me, it's a weird feeling seeing kids staying back because it's been so long since Michigan was a legitimate contender. It's been a while since anyone could take "Those who stay will be champions" serious. A Big Ten title (and hopefully a playoff appearance) is very much in play this year, finally.

The SEC still runs through Tuscaloosa

edit: Oh, you're a Nebraska fan...... lol even worse. At least Florida fans have recent enough success to hang their hat on.

He truly is making a clown of himself, and his alma mater.  This cannot not end well.  And it will.
