I think those 4 are almost everyones top 4. The 5th player is where it differs. They have to go in the draft with their top 5 bigboard and if those 4 are gone yes I think he would be good value at 5.

"Numerous sources" have told TFY Draft Insider's Tony Pauline that Clemson CB Mackensie Alexander is "a very difficult person to deal with off the field."


Additionally, "some of his [college] coaches are giving Alexander less than rave reviews to NFL teams." The junior cornerback's been the topic of discussion across war rooms leading up to the draft, and it sounds like the off-field issues could push Alexander down draft boards. Alexander is viewed by some as the defensive back with the best ball skills in this class and a potential mid-first round pick. Alexander is 5'10/190 and ran a 4.47 forty at the Tigers' Pro Day.

Alexander stands at 5'10 195 pounds but is built of solid muscle with a large frame and thick thighs. He excels in coverage and isn't afraid to stick his nose in and make the tough tackle. He's a trash talker too something this team has been missing for some time since the days of Mike Peterson. He's not a typical "Gus CB" as far as size goes but there are rumblings around the draft community that he could end up being the best CB in the draft by the time the combine rolls around. Thoughts?

While the character concerns specifically sound new, we've been hearing that Alexander stock is dangerously close to falling out of the first round picture for quite a while now though. I believe this much more than the Jack falling stuff.

I think he'll go at the end of the 1st if not the top of the 2nd.. if he's there in the 2nd and Eli Apple is gone might be a Jaguar.

I don't like Apple at all,just please no. Alexander is from Immokale(sp?),those kids have had some trouble in the past. Obviously not everyone there is a bad person or blah blah it's just they're kinda known for their football players to have attitude problems ala JC Jackson at Florida

yeah, I would say Apple and Alexander are about even form me. I like Apple's length and think he has a higher ceiling bit I think Alexander has the higher floor. I just dont want to take another number 2 corner in the 2nd round when I feel we can get ab elite interior olineman like Kelly or Garnett or if we take Jack and one of the pass rushers fall
