Eagles land 2nd overall pick from Browns.

Quote:What if it goes:

1.  Wentz

2.  Goff

3.  Tunsil

4.  Buckner

That means the big three of Bosa, Ramsey, and Jack are available.  Who do we take?  Sounds like a good problem to have.
Almost positive Dallas won't take Buckner. All three of the main three are better fits, especially Ramsey who sounds like a lock if he's there.

Quote:There doesnt seem to be an obvious guy for us.  Each has an easy to see red flag.  Tunsil missed a bunch of time for various reasons.  Ramsey, while good, didnt create a ton of turnovers.  Jack has the injury risk.  Bosa may just end up good but not great and not producing double digit sacks.

If Jack were 100% healthy, he would be the obvious pick to me.  But I could be talked into any of them.
I listened to the Thursday night show and I think it was Boselli (may have been Lageman) who drew the Bosa comparison to Trace Armstrong.

Now I don't know if I would ever draft a Trace Armstrong 5th overall (Armstrong was picked 12th overall in 1989-a pretty stacked draft at the top), but he (Armstrong) actually had a pretty solid career for Chicago and Miami.  He wound up with FIVE (5) seasons of double digit sacks, including 16.5 sacks in 2000.  He only made one Pro Bowl.

If we drafted Bosa, I would be thrilled with that kind of production for us.

I think anyone would. If Bosa comes in and becomes an 8-10+ sack guy for 5, 6, 7, + years, that would go a long way into getting a very good defense. We haven't had any pass rushers like that in forever. Very excited about Fowler coming back, Malik on board, Sen being healthy, and a draft full of defense. Defense has always been the side of the ball I enjoy the most. Miss those Henderson/Stroud/Mike Pete/Mathis etc. days growing up.

Quote:Don't compare to JJ. Compare to Calais Campbell, who is a freak and dominates himself.

I prefer one of the big 3, but if Caldwell takes Buckner, I'll be stoked as well. He is special.

Yeah perhaps.  A Calais Campbell type of player is a fair comparison and would be more than acceptable at our pick if he can play at that level.

Quote:There won't be any more trades. Unless someone falls in love with the Memphis QB. Highly unlikely a team trades up for a LT who's not a "cant miss prospect". Tunsil is going to fall, I think hes a bit overrated and teams believe now that hes not as sure fire as once thought. Left tackles can be found later. Its a premiere position but its not as cant miss as say a QB or even a great Pass Rusher.
Lol why do people say this all the time? When every year teams trade up for other positions besides QB, QB isnt the only position teams trade up for

Ian Rapoport just said the Chargers phone is ringing off the hook, since teams know that spot is where the first position player will be drafted

Quote:They just said on 1010XL that Dallas DE Demarcus Lawrence might be suspended.

If that's true, they are down Hardy (cut), Randy Gregory has been suspended for the first four games, now Lawrence.

It seems like it is screaming for them to take Joey Bosa.

1.  Los Angeles-Goff

2.  Philadelphia-Wentz

3.  SD-Tunsil/Buckner

4. Dallas-Bosa

5.  Jacksonville-Ramsey, Jack, Tunsil/ Buckner, VH3-other

Turns out this was correct and Lawrence is suspended for the first four games.

I just heard a report that every draft pick has been traded and the draft is now somehow back to it's original order.

Quote:I hope we can get somebody to trade with us for Tunsil, I think we will take Ramsey

I'm thinking that too cause he's so athletic and talented, just with the Gipson pickup at FS, do you draft Ramsey to play corner when he's not the the best cornerback in the draft? Especially with our lackluster LB corp, and Jack still on the board?

Quote:Not to mention the guy's hands are gi-normous.  I forsee a lot of tipped passes at the line much like JJ Watt.  His arms are slightly longer and hands slightly bigger than JJ's.  He's two inches taller as well.

I would actually feel pretty good about a Buckner pick. He's versatile and lines up all over the place.  Not like he can't be in the game with Malik and Marks at the same time.

Quote:If that's the case, it would seem they are going full on rebuild mode.  Jaguars have been in two recent rebuilds and never had that many picks.  Not bad at all.
They haven't been shy about saying they are rebuilding. The team has been a dumpster fire since '99. They needed to build like this for more than a decade.

If LT is so easy to find why have we been looking for a good one since Boselli left?   Tunsil is the best player in the draft, if he is there we either take him or get more picks for him

Everyone loves Jack but his knee scares me.  I am sorry but If I am picking top 5 I am not taking the guy who's knee is an issue.  Even medical exams have mixed reviews on it.

do we take Bosa or Tunsil or my hope swing a trade to someone who wants Tunsil.

Personally I see bust all over Bosa.
I think we trade out of spot with team wanting Tunsil or Draft Buckner!

This is so silly.  One of these two teams is likely to get the guy they already have, or just traded away (Bradford) if they choose Goff.

Great for them, though.  Since they aren't us.

I still think Wentz goes first, then Goff gets to compete with his twin.

Very telling that this is a draft with teams desperate for a QB trading to the top.  Bad thing for them is it's a weak starting QB class... these "top" QBs aren't as highly graded as you'd expect from 1, 2.

If the QBs go 1, 2... pick 3 is like starting the "real" draft.  They get first overall with the third pick.  Great for us.

With the two QBs going 1 and 2, the Jags are guaranteed to pick up 1 of the best defenders, a needed playmaker, in the draft at pick 5.  There is likely going to be value, such as getting one of the very best 3 players in the draft at pick 5.  Make the pick...don't trade it away.

What a wild pre-draft season. Still a week to go too.

Where does Elliot go now as most people had him going to Philly. I say he goes to the Giants. Giants could be really good this year
