I am fine with any of the following: Buckner, Jack, Bosa, Ramsey, Tunsil. I will be very happy with any of those guys. And with QBs going 1-2, we will get our choice of 3 of those 5. How could life be any better? I don't see how anyone can complain about any of those guys.

Quote:You really don't see how anyone can complain about drafting a LT? I can see how anyone can complain about anything. What I said was, I wouldn't complain about drafting Tunsil. I'd be perfectly happy with it. Quote:No.We need defensive playmakers more than we need a LT. Tunsil also is pretty soft in the run game and we want to be better at running the ball. Tunsil also is pretty soft in the run game and we want to be better at running the ball.On the other hand, if we draft the consensus best player in the draft, who happens to be an offensive tackle, who can replace Joeckel, we would be building a hell of an offense. Teams are built around the QB. You have to protect the guy. Quote:On the other hand, if we draft the consensus best player in the draft, who happens to be an offensive tackle, who can replace Joeckel, we would be building a hell of an offense.Nah. QB, pass rusher, corners. Panthers and Broncos made SB with below average LTs. We will be fine next year with Beachum or Luke now that Beadles isn't on this team. Cann and Linder will help out with the pressures.

if we draft Tunsil, can Joeckel or Beachum play guard at a starting level?

Quote:if we draft Tunsil, can Joeckel or Beachum play guard at a starting level? well, they never have played... I would honestly rather just draft a Center or Guard in rounds 2-3 and just keep it the way it is. Have Joeckel/Beachum at LT, Cann at LG, draft pick at Center, Linder at RG, and Parnell at RT

It clearly which ever of the 2 (Buckner or Bosa) the cowgirls dont pick. I pretty much know at this point that Bosa is the brass' consensus with Buckner as a strong contingency.

Dave said he's got his top guys in a cluster in terms of talent.
Gus said if talent is close, we will draft the biggest need. If that remains true, I don't see Tunsil as our pick (thankfully).

I would also pass on Tunsil since they just picked up Beachum in the likelihood that Joeckel doesn't improve. The defense needs much more help and would be shocked if Caldwell took Tunsil at 5. Buckner, on the other hand, seems to be gaining a lot of steam as a possible Caldwell pick. He does have rare size and strength, but it bothers me that Conklin dominated him earlier this year. That being said, if I had to guess what Caldwell's board looks like I would say:
1. Ramsay 2. Jack 3. Buckner 4. Bosa Jack would have been 1st if not for his injury, but I still think Dave will roll the dice on him if S.D. or Dallas takes Ramsay as long as their team doctor was optimistic about injury status. They both got after each other. Buckner beat Conkline multiple times/made him look bad, same goes for Conklin. Conklin is also a bonafide top 10-15 prospect in this draft, so I don't see why you expect a guy to dominate a guy like that. Conklin should be a very, very solid RT in the NFL. |
