So we're taking a center early?

Quote:As in our 2nd ,5th and 6th this hear and 3rd next year.Is that too much? To move from 6 to 20 something. Do not like the idea of getting that many picks away when we may have an above average center on the team (Linder), potentially. We show less advertisements to registered users. Watch Kelly vs Clemson.. Completely sold on him after watching that. We would be lucky if he fell to 38.
Shock the world

Its not ideal but I think having an interior of Cann,Kelly,Linder would help so much. It would give us the ability to slam Ivory and Yeldon into them when Blake and co arn't doing too well and we could run out the clock very well too.
Would love for Kelly to fall to us in the second, Im also not against trading up for him but I wouldnt want to give up a third from next year. I'd be fine wiht our 2,5,6 this year tho.
Bottom line is, Dave has to find a starter-level Center or Guard within the first 3 rounds.

Otherwise theyre kinda just swapping and gaining some late rounders that prob wont make a huge difference.
Glad to see everyone jumping on my Kelly locomotive, unfortunately we're getting more and more pessimistic that he's available past like 26. The Colts at 18 might be his most likely landing spot.

The Colts at 18 might be his most likely landing spot.I doubt as well that Ryan Kelly makes it to the second round or possibly even late 20s. But if first day ends and he is not drafted we should really trade up right away with Cleveland for him (unless there's a monumental fall of a pass rusher like Lawson, which won't be the case). But as an alternative a guard like Garnett would suit us I think, only question is when he will be drafted as I've seen late him mocked at mid-late first round to third round. As a third rounder it'd be a steal, as a second I can't see us using the pick on him. Only a few days left till the draft finally... Quote:I doubt as well that Ryan Kelly makes it to the second round or possibly even late 20s.Garnett, Whitehair, or Westerman would all be very good guard pickups on day 2. Probably would have to be 38 for Garnett and Whitehair, but Westerman could slip to 69 I think. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!

What about Evan Boehm, the C that was at senior bowl? What do you think of him? Could be a good backup plan eventually as well in your opinion?
Based on how I'm currently projecting the first 37 picks, my choice at # 38 for the Jaguars came down to Ryan Kelly vs. Cody Whitehair. I'm currently going with Kelly because he would provide more continuity up front.

Quote:We could always trade up into the second if one of those guards slip then.I don't like any Cs except Kelly at 38. At 69 I would be cool with Boehm, Tuerk, or Nick Martin, probably in opposite order listed though. Round 4 I would be ok with Glasnow or Allen. I've also heard good things about Seumalo too but I don't really know much about him except that he played LT/RG and is supposed to play C in the NFL, and that Danny Shelton who I really liked last year said Seumalo was the toughest guard he ever faced in college. Quote:I hate the idea of taking our best lineman and moving him to a different position ughI would much rather have players who play one position very well, rather than players who can play a couple positions pretty good...I know versatility is generally a good thing, but I'd rather see position swapping only when stretched thin due to something such as injury.

Glasgow may have some off the field issues though and in general i'd like to see us draftig one of the best Olinemen available within the first 3 rounds. A Jack-Kelly combo in first 2 rounds would be awesome.
Quote:I feel like we need to within the first 3 rounds. Cann/Linder can play it but that seems more like a back-up plan. It depends on who you want to draft Ryan Kelly in the 2nd round sure, but the team has Luke Bowanko & Mackenzy Bernadeau in addition to them talking about putting Linder there so its not like they need to reach up a round or two for a guy that will be there later on.
I really don't think Ryan Kelly will make it out of the 1st round, so that leaves Nick Martin Notre Dame as the next best center available in the 2nd round by the time the Jaguars pick if you want an upgrade from Luke he would be the guy.

I see OLB/DE edge guy and MLB.
I think they take an interior lineman (guard or center) tomorrow early. I think they are going into the season with either Bowanko at center or Joeckel/Beachum/Bernadeau at guard with Linder at center.
