Does the KKK try to assimilate to our culture? No, in fact, they used to be the culture of this country during a time that a whole lot of conservatives lament the loss of and had to be fought against. Black's didn't have right's and neither did women. Those were both ingrained parts of this culture that had to be eliminated. Black's and women hated your culture as well. They won so now you all have moved onto the LGBT.

I don't live in fear, but when people say they are coming for me I do take notice.  The KKK used to be 99% Democrat; now they are 99% FBI.  I am neither.  I have no problem with any minority, but neither do I want any group, to have special rights above the rest of us.  Individuals have rights.  If individuals are oppressed, that's where corrections and remedies should be applied.

What's scary is a norm being produced today that if you disagree with something you "Hate" that person, or what they are trying to do or become. That is ridiculous.

So much this. I disagree with my husband and he with me on several things. It doesn't mean I hate him or that he hates me. It means we have a difference of opinion. But these days a difference of opinion automatically means you hate that person or group and have no tolerance for them. 

 

As I read what I just wrote I noticed something. These four words which I used have very different meanings yet are used a lot by people who I think either don't really know what they mean or they twist the words to fit their POV.

Not to single you our RJ as I roll through this thread but your post beg for me to respond.  Answer me this please, Why should my wife or anyone's wife, be made to feel uncomfortable to accommodate a transgender?  Why should my daughter or anyone else's daughter be made to feel uncomfortable to accommodate a transgender?  How about my granddaughter?  How about any woman born with lady parts that identifies with her born gender?  What about their feelings?  Do they not count in your all inclusionary world view?

 

They'll make the same choice transgenders have been making for years. Hold it, or go to a place in which they are uncomfortable to relieve it.

The whole point of this discussion is about LGBT being denied, by law, the ability to use the bathroom of the sex they identify with. If a person that identifies as a male is forced to use a female only restroom, surely you can see how that would be an undue burden on them. Or maybe you don't because you have never spoken with one. Maybe you should, it might make them seem more human to you.

If only adults were involved in this debate it would be a no-brainer. But on the occasions when dad is out shopping with 8-year-old daughter who has to go potty, how will she handle the experience of a strange man urinating in a loud continuous stream inches from where she is sitting in the next stall? It's a little more complicated than a "normal bodily function" argument.

I've actually used a men's restroom a time or two in my life because the line for the women's was too long and I had to go like nobody's business. They were single restrooms, of course.


Another time in boot camp I we had been out on a ruck march. When we returned to the barracks I had to go something fierce but all the stalks were in use. There were urinals in there and you better believe I figured out how to use it rather than wetting my pants. The other females in line thought I was crazy.

On the tranny bathroom issue, no, I cannot see how it would be an undue burden.  No, I don't want to hear how a lady is traumatized by using the ladies room.  Yes, I'm sure the tranny is human even if mentally ill or confused.
