Transgender brains are actually quite different from your typical male and female brain.  Studies have shown that their brains are 'transgender brains', and that there is a biological basis for it.

If you're 'uncomfortable,' I suspect you will get over it. If you think you are unsafe, you are a donkey or a blind sheep.

Yes, when you intentionally discount other people's concerns and try to label them as fear mongers  or religious zealots then that's absolutely prejudiced.  As usual you have shown the fundamental inability to have a conversation.  Part of having a conversation is trying to understand and appreciate the position of the person that you're conversing with even if you may disagree with them.  I find it interesting that you want the entire world to try and have empathy with  subset of the population so rare that part of your position is that they will rarely interact with them while at the same time showing the inability to demonstrate empathy with the people you are talking with on a message board.  Talk about mixed messages.  

 

I cited a specific example that makes a lot of people across the political can religious spectrum uncomfortable or at least gives them pause: a trans woman who is anatomically male and is sexually attracted to women sharing the same restroom with natural born females.  

 

That's not some bigotted miscasting.  That's not some fairy tale about trans people hiding under a bed somewhere.  That is the reality of the cultural shift that you are cheer-leading.  

 

The whole concept of divided bathrooms was based on the idea that a woman who needs to use the restroom, or in some cases change clothes do make up etc. etc. would be able to do so with the basic knowledge that she wouldn't be oogled or accosted or made to feel uncomfortable by a guy standing next to her etc. etc. etc.  When you introduce the possibility of trans women who are still anatomically male and attracted to women into the equation then that changes the fiber of that social contract.  As a husband i have to tell you that it makes me uncomfortable and raises a certain level of concern.  

 

The state is not the agent of my concern or comfort, so i don't support the use of the state to try and enforce bathroom law. It doesn't mean that i will loose an ounce of sleep over it.  At the same time It does mean that as a society we have a responsibility of vigilance to make sure that the people that we make exceptions for are legitimately just in favor of making a #1 or #2.  

 

As to equal protection versus special exceptions, this is a special exception.  The basic principle that everyone across the board should use the bathroom associated with their birth sex is universal and equal.  We are talking about a special exception for those who see gender as some external social construct to be IDENTIFIED with.

If transgender people using the bathroom they feel the most comfortable in is a real threat to anyone, where is it happening? If you look at facts instead of bull manure you will see trans people are actually far more at risk than some jack hole who fears for their daughter or wife being in a bathroom with a person born with male parts who has the self image and perception of being a woman. What do people go to the bathroom to do? #1 and #2. That is the same for all people regardless of age, sex, religion or if they happen to be transgender. All this mularkey about predators has been debunked a thousand times. Being an uptight person who thinks this is something people are choosing to do does not make the reality of the situation any different. People are not being in attacked in bathrooms by trans people. But trans people are certainly being attacked for "being in the wrong bathroom." It happened recently at UNF.

And presumably he is concerned his womenfolk may leave him for an incredibly smooth trans person who can pick up straight chicks in bathrooms. We have eliminated being physically accosted by a trans person as a legitimate fear or concern as it does not happen anywhere.

I'm sure there are probably exceptions but the few transwomen I've known over the years have all been sexually attracted to men. Logically, a transwoman has a much of a chance of being a lesbian as a biological woman. What you're referring to in your post is much, much closer to being a transvestite instead of someone who's transgender.

They listed specific instances of men dressed as women claiming transgender status to violate women's privacy. That's not right wing, that's reality and rather predictable reality. If you are so naive as to think that everyone walking into a woman's room dressed as a woman is a.) pure as the driven snow or b.) a legitimate trans person then you have once again demonstrated you don't have enough maturity to participate in this conversation.
