Cowboys/Chargers picks

#1
(This post was last modified: 04-28-2016, 07:39 AM by BritishJag.)

These are probably the 2 most important picks for the Jags (aside from our own) so I think it's worth keeping track of who they're likely to pick.

Just seen this:

Louis Gorini ‎@PrimetimeScout
@nfldraftscout Stanley to chargers a lock? What percentage would you give it?

 Matt Miller ‎@nfldraftscout
@PrimetimeScout 100%

If that's the case it leaves the Cowboys to pick whoever they want on D or Elliot or trade down with someone who wants Tunsil.
Mayock, McShay & Kiper are all mocking Stanley to the Chargers now too.

Really hoping Dallas goes Offense at 4 so we can have our pick of the litter on Defense.

If you would have told me 60 days ago that the draft will start 2 QBs and Stanley, I would have laughed.

The thread title is backwards. San Diego is #3 and Dallas is #4.

That said, I think the Chargers pick Stanley or Tunsil and the Cowboys pick Elliott or Bosa.

Why is Ronnie Stanley suddenly the favorite to be a Charger after Leremy Tunsil was widely considered the best player?

Stanley is considered the safer player without the questionable off the field issues.

Chargers fans hate the idea of taking Stanley.

"If we take Stanley at #3, I'll want TT fired immediately. At least trade down if you want him."

"This is literally my nightmare. I would rather draft Ryan Kelly at #3 than Stanley."

"That would be a catastrophic unforced error. TT and the Chargers would be the laughing stock of the draft...again."

"
can we hold a therapy session on here if/when Tunsil or Stanley is announced?"

"Welp... I'm already preparing my mind and heart for the worst outcome, that is Stanley. Gawd damn will I be devastated, dissappointed, and irate if this falls through."

2. Stanley is the hot name in the draft this morning. I’m hearing he’s the No. 1 tackle on the Jags’ board too—and though Jacksonville selects fifth, it’s more likely GM Dave Caldwell goes with a front-seven player or a trade down. Why Stanley? Two things I heard on Wednesday: reliability on the field, and a spotless record off it.

The off-field issues started when Leremy Tunsil was in college. The Chargers had to know all about them months ago.

British, what do you think Chargers fans will say if Ronnine Stanley plays up to his status as a top five pick? That they feel like idiots?

I'd imagine so but none of like the idea of the pick. This is from the Chargers Reddit page:

"I swear to god if Tom Telesco takes Stanley I'm going to ****** print a picture of Telesco's face, set it on fire, then poop on it."

I personally don't like Stanley. I don't see the alpha dog nastiness to him that I like to see in big uglies.

I'm sure they know. What's to say Stanley hasn't been the #1 player on their boards since the draft process started? The NFL mock drafters really have no idea where players are ranked on actual NFL GMs boards.

Bob McGinn has:

Chargers: Jalen Ramsey

Cowboys: Ezekiel Elliot

Jaguars: Joey Bosa

He doesn't have Stanley going until pick 15 to the tacks.
