NCAA Not Happy With Michigan's Spring Break Practices

Quote:Former Michigan (and Florida) defensive coordinator, now Maryland HC, on Harbaugh:

<a class="bbc_url" href='http://www.detroitnews.com/story/sports/college/university-michigan/wolverines/2016/04/27/si-durkin-says-working-harbaugh-meyer-no-picnic/83593792/'>http://www.detroitnews.com/story/sports/college/university-michigan/wolverines/2016/04/27/si-durkin-says-working-harbaugh-meyer-no-picnic/83593792/</a>

"When I first got there, it was like, oh my gosh,” Durkin told Pete Thamel of SI. ‘Then you finally spend more time with Jim. The guy is really smart. Extremely smart. Everything is for a reason, but he loves chaos. That's just how he operates. He loves confrontation, chaos, conflict. He doesn't want it to be everyone comfortable, this is the schedule. He just loves throwing a wrench in the works.

“So, when you first get there, it's like, what's going on? But it was great. To see someone impose their will, their confidence, their vision on a program, to totally change it — total 180. Stanford was known as a soft, academic, wine-sipping program. Now it's the total opposite. He definitely imposed his will on the place.”

Sounds like Durkin believes Harbaugh changed the culture at Michigan and turned things around.

Interesting, since the next sentence says Stanford, not Michigan...but I'm sure he MEANT Michigan, right?

Durkin is talking about how impressive Harbaugh is at completely changing the culture at a program. This is what I (and most people who aren't you) have seen in his 16 months in Ann Arbor. A complete 180 in culture, just like at Stanford.

It's incredibly sad that you had to scour the Internet to find something about someone saying he turned the program around, although the article is about him turning Stanford around, and not your beloved Michigan. I'm sure you'll say you just happened to come across it, and didn't go out and actively hunt it down...but I think we both know that wouldn't be true.

It's also incredibly hysterical that you get your knickers in such a bunched up position as soon as anyone doesn't completely agree with 100% of what you say about your school. You care way too much about what other people think...seriously, way too much.

That's good, I don't have a problem with them...as long as they aren't being help on high school campuses.

I've already told you that just about anything Michigan related I post here comes from a Michigan forum I frequent. I'm not sure why you pretend that isn't true?

And I just pass forward things from the Michigan board that I find funny, like being on stage at a Migos concert and a Bruce Springsteen concert on back to back nights lol.

Maybe the internet is hard for you to figure out, but most wouldn't consider copying and pasting from one forum (MGoBoard) to another forum (The Jungle) "scouring the internet".

Also, if you can't see the connection Durkin was making between Stanford and Michigan then that's on you. Even without Durkins statements, anybody denying the culture change within the program is stupid or trolling. I don't know you enough to distinguish whether it's the former or the latter.

Since I cant quote, this is about Bch and Hail using Stanford quotes as Michigan's.  Hahahahahahaha, this is awesome.  Make it work Bch.

As far as the ban lifted, its still stupid to let them come down here, but whatever.  FSU should have a traveling practice of the northeast.  Hit the Boston area, New York area, PA, Ohio, and Michigan.  Make it a traveling tour to hit all recruits.E

Edit:  FSU would never do it.  The real talent is in Florida.

I'm not using Stanford's quotes as Michigan. Read the article. Durkin coached with Harbaugh at both Stanford and Michigan. He is clearly comparing Harbaugh was able to turn Stanford around to what he is doing at Michigan. Again, read the article. It should be as clear to you as it is to me that a connection is being made.

"Everything is for a reason, but he loves chaos. That's just how he operates. He loves confrontation, chaos, conflict..."     if that sentence there doesn't make you realize that he is drawing comparisons between the two "turn arounds", then you guys are hopeless.

Bch or Josh, where do you guys see Michigan finishing the season? The general consensus is that Harbaugh has turned Michigan around and should be a top 10 team. Thoughts?

I think it is stupid to expect prospects to go to 6+ different camps every summer because the schools they are interested in can't go to them. If FSU wants to attend a camp in the Northeast, they should be able to just like anyone else. To say they have to stay in Florida is ridiculous.

I don't think that was a serious post. When it starts off with "it's still stupid to let them come down here", it's most likely a hot take.

The SEC and ACC lifted their league bans on satellite camps today, too.

So they vote FOR a national ban of satellite camps under the guise of them being unethical, and then remove their own conference bans? I mean, it was obviously always about recruiting grounds, but SEC and ACC reps insisted it was a ethical thing. Quite funny.

I'm going to assume that you are smarter than a bag of hair (please don't prove me wrong) and that you realize that saying someone loves confrontation, chaos and conflict has nothing to do with turning a program around...it just means he loves a challenge. You are inferring what you want to from what he said and running with it, not reading what he actually said. Sorry to disappoint you, but that article doesn't say what you are wanting it to say.

"He loves confrontation, chaos, conflict..." ......you don't think that has ANYTHING to do with things like..... say...... the topic of this thread? If you don't see a connection, then calling you as smart as a bag of hair would be an insult to hair.

Clever ignoring my links to the Michigan forum. You insult me by insisting I scour the internet for info, despite being far from true. You're too insecure (for some reason?) to apologize for your mistake.

There is nothing to apologize to you for...you looked around for an article to try to prove your point, and failed miserably at it. Whether you posted it on some site yourself, or found them...you ACTIVELY looked for it, so my point was very clearly made.

Guess what, I also love confrontation, chaos and conflict...and I'm pretty sure I haven't turned Michigans program around either. Saying someone loves those things is not saying that he has turned the program around yet. I'm sorry that you aren't smart enough to realize that those words nor that article bolstered the point you are so desperately trying to make.

How stupid does someone have to be to insist I "scoured the Internet" to find an article when it was posted to a forum I read?

Pretty stupid I'd think.

Durkin didn't say anything like that about Michigan...he SPECIFICALLY mentioned STANFORD, not Michigan. STANFORD. If he had wanted to say that about Michigan, he would have actually said that, but guess what...he didn't!!

I asked you not to prove me wrong about the bag of hair...you couldn't even make it to another page of this thread before you did it. Lol
