Didn't know where to put this... This thread looked like a good spot.


I woke up excited about draft day, checked my phone. Had a text from my mom (in her 60's). "Can you come over tonight and help me with something"


I'm thinking, really? Tonight?



Another text comes in from her, "Just kidding. Isn't tonight draft night?"


Lol. Nice mom!

I realize that now. Both parents are pretty cool now actually. But my mom is the one that's witty at times. Hell, I was surprised she even knew tonight was the draft. She earned a cool point for that alone!

I was only a passenger and I wasn't going to be rude and let my friend buy everything...but let's just say that I spent almost double what I planned to spend on my trip out here.

I forgot how much fun layovers were. Almost five hours in Atlanta and I'm concerned it will be even longer with these thunderstorms in the area.

Whenever I have a long layover I usually try to get super drunk, find everyone that is in my terminal to catch the same flight as me, eye up my potential ...uh..."Freedom snatchers/Muslims", give them the 'murican "I'll totally fight you back and then some" stink eye while visions of American Flags and Bald Eagles soar high in our free skies. Not sure I needed to post that as I'm sure that's normal behavior. But FWIW. That's what I do.
