Charley Casserly: "No way Myles Jack is going to Jacksoville at 5"

I don't see why you would fly out And give hi, a workout unless you think his Medicals are ok. Unless you feel you could get him in the 2nd round if his knee is an issue?

I seriously think we're moving back to 7 with San Fran or 8 with Cleveland and taking Jack. It's still saying this in my gut lol
GO JAGS!!
Let's Get Em!!!! Go Jags!

That is what I have been saying, except we would trade down for more picks knowing he will still be available. He will still be a top 15 pick.
Quote:Well, that would be stellar if we got Jalen Ramsey at 5. I would be doing backflips.I'm waiting for your back flips, kind sir We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!

Feel bad for Jack, interesting to see how far he still falls, do the titans nab him?
What are the odds of Myles Jack falling out of the 2nd round entirely? I doubt it, because I think the Jaguars take him if he's there.
"(The degenerative problems are) there, but it's nothing extreme," Jack The former UCLA star linebacker acknowledged the potential for micro fracture surgery in the future. "I would understand if I fell," Jack said. "This is a talented draft class, so if I was to fall, I wouldn't take it personally."
Quote:I doubt Myles Jack falls to the 2nd round IMO, but I also highly doubt that he's going to be drafted by Jacksonville... I've been saying that for months (and started to doubt myself due to all the media, fans, and everyone saying he was)... We show less advertisements to registered users. Now the risk reward factor is better, I would love to select Jack at 38
HeadSlap
When they have no time, they think about it!
When they go down hard, they think about it! Just watch Peyton, Andrew, Caep even Mr. Bundchen.
I wonder if he has an insurance policy like Jaylon Smith.
I really want him and Spence to be there with our pick but I'm not feeling overly optimistic about those chances.
Caldwell said that had Dallas picked Ramsey he still had two players rated above Jack. That says to me that Caldwell views Jack as a 1st round talent in spite of the knee and would take him if he were still available at our pick in round 2. This is going to be interesting. If Caldwell really wants Jack at this point I think a 2017 3rd round pick would be what it would take to swap 2nds with Cleveland.
The "microfracture surgery" comment is being overblown. That's something he may need in a few years, not something he needs right now. "Why should I give information to you when all you want to do is find something wrong with it?"
The last time we took a Bruin with 1st round talent in the 2nd round, it worked out pretty well for us.

Quote:I wonder if he has an insurance policy like Jaylon Smith.I saw a blurb somewhere that said he does but it doesn't kick in until pick 45 and compensates him $60k per pick at that point until he is selected. If he makes it to 45, he should probably just fire up a joint in the green room and exhale right into the nearest TV camera to ensure he goes undrafted.
Quote:Life is a degenerative issue. Since birth we are dying. Perfect example of people looking way to hard at wording of a young kid. LOL, nice. But the thing is, in the game of football, we don't want the degeneration to happen over a span of a season... I think it's too big a risk...
Quote: </div> </blockquote> Yep I called it, when Myles Jack was only slightly above their 2nd round pick having to only give up a 5th round pick seemed like a no brainer (makes the fans happy) and is very low risk on his knee being only a 2nd & 5th round for him as opposed to a 5th overall. Quote:Strange thing is he actually did go to Jacksonville at 5. It's very rare that one team ends up with two guys deemed before the draft as top 5-10 talent in the same draft. I can only think of three other instances in the more than 30 years I've watched & followed the draft, none of which were quite the same as here. The first instance was in 1987-the aftermath of the Eric Dickerson trade. That year, Alabama LB Cornelius Bennett was taken 2nd overall by the Colts. In the same draft, the Bills selected Penn State LB Shane Conlan either 7th or 8th overall. The Colts were unable to sign Bennett, who held out until midseason. The trade sent Bennett to Buffalo in October of that year. He would team with Conlan, Talley, Bruce Smith, Art Still, Fred Smerlas and others to form the nucleus of a defense that would lead the Bills to four straight Super Bowls in the 1990s. The second instance was in 1992. The Colts wound up with the first two picks in the draft. (I don't remember how, exactly), and they drafted DT Steve Emtman-who had the talent to end up in Canton had he not blown out his knee twice-and LB Quentin Coryatt. While the Colts advanced to the AFC title game in 1995 and reached the playoffs in 1996, Emtman was finished by then, and Coryatt while a starter, was not a major part of the Colts. Finally, in 2000, the Skins wound up with the 2nd and 3rd overall picks in the draft (I don't remember how, exactly-perhaps in the aftermath of the Ricky Williams trade) They took Alabama T Chris Samuels and Penn State OLB Lavar Arrington. Despite hitting on those picks, the Skins never really ut together a serious threat to win the conference. Our windfall was different in 3 substantial ways: 1. One of the players in question-Jack-dealt with reports of a substantial knee injury. 2. All were acquired in part by trade, but unlike those other instances above, the draft that netted Ramsey and Jack did not involve a major trade. Just a 5th round pick. 3. And of course, Jack was obtained in the second round. The other pairs were all taken in the first round. We were JUST THAT FORTUNATE! Edit: Just found out how the Colts got the #2 overall pick in 1992. In 1990 they traded QB Chris Chandler to Tampa for their first round pick in 1992. Ugh for Tampa. Worst to 1st. Curse Reversed!
