2nd & 3rd round mocks.
|
Will update as I find them:
Walter @ Walterfootball.com 38. Myles Jack, LB/RB, UCLA Myles Jack was an option for the Jaguars at No. 5. That may seem crazy, considering that he fell out of the first round, but I wouldn't be surprised if Jacksonville takes him off the board at this spot. 69. Shilique Calhoun, DE/OLB, Michigan State Joey Bosa probably would've been Jacksonville's pick had he been available. I could see the Jaguars taking an edge rusher on the second day of the draft. Charlie @ Walterfootball.com 38. Noah Spence, DE/OLB, Eastern Kentucky From what I'm hearing from sources, if Ryan Kelly had made it to this pick, Jacksonville would've taken him. Kelly's gone, so the team is looking at either an edge rusher or cornerback. Even if the Jaguars had landed Joey Bosa in the first round, I think Spence would still be the target here. There is no doubt that Spence has a good skill set as an edge rusher. The 6-foot-2, 254-pounder would be a great fit as a 3-4 outside linebacker to rush off the edge. He has speed and agility to get the better of offensive tackles. Spence had an excellent Senior Bowl on the field, but some sources say that Spence didn't interview well regarding the off-the-field issues that plagued his career. Similar players like Randy Gregory, Janoris Jenkins and Tyrann Mathieu - who all had substance and legal problems - ended up going on Day 2 of their respective drafts. In speaking to some other teams, they believe Spence will go in the first round, so he is in for an interesting draft day as it will take the right team to pull the trigger on him in Round 1. Spence played well for Ohio State in 2013, collecting 52 tackles, 14.5 tackles for a loss, eight sacks, one forced fumble and two passes broken up. However to end that season, Spence was suspended for three games. He was then suspended in 2014 for repeated failed drug tests for ecstasy. After transferring to Eastern Kentucky, Spence had an arrest for public intoxication. He overwhelmed weaker competition there in 2015 with 63 tackles with 22.5 for a loss and 11.5 sacks. It weren't for off-the-field issues, Spence could be a high first-round pick. 69. Scooby Wright III, ILB/OLB, Arizona The Jaguars grab an understudy for Paul Posluszny. Wright missed most of 2015, finishing the year with 23 tackles, 3.5 tackles for a loss and two sacks. In the season opener, he suffered a knee injury - a lateral meniscus tear - that he underwent surgery for. Wright came back after missing only two games, but he clearly rushed back and wasn't the same. Wright sprained his foot in his first game back - a loss to UCLA - and didn't played the rest of the regular season. In the bowl game against New Mexico, Wright collected 15 tackles, 3.5 for a loss and two sacks. Wright took college football by storm in 2014. The 6-foot, 239-pounder was a pass-rushing force for the Wildcats and one of the top defenders in the Pac-12. He had 14 sacks with 163 tackles, 29 tackles for a loss and six forced fumbles for the year. Wright is an instinctive linebacker and was all over the field for Arizona. In 2013, he notched 83 tackles with 9.5 for a loss and an interception. Chris Burke @ SI.com 38. Noah Spence, DE/OLB, Eastern Kentucky The respective falls of Spence and Jack come to an end within the top 40—Spence as another pass-rusher for what is becoming a potent Jacksonville defense. <div>69. Christian Westerman C/G, Arizona State Danny Webster @ Bleacher Report (RD2 only) 38. Reggie Ragland, LB, Alabama Mike Kaye @ First Coast News 38. Noah Spence, DE/OLB, Eastern Kentucky 69. Joe Dahl, G, Washington State Drafttek.com 38. Noah Spence, DE/OLB, Eastern Kentucky 69. Deion Jones, OLB, LSU </div> We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
I see myles jack as a 7th rounder to udfa. Nobody drafts a player that needs microfracture knee surgery.

AS long as we come away with Jack or Spence at 38, I will be a happy camper.

Drafttek has Myles Jack going at 50 to Atlanta, Charlie has him going 44 to Oakland. I'm pretty sure he'll be drafted tonight.
Quote:AS long as we come away with Jack or Spence at 38, I will be a happy camper. Pretty much. If they go Jack, I think it could be Kyler Fackrell or Yannick Ngakoue in round three. If they go Spence, I could see Kentrell Brothers in round three.

I hope we stay away from Scooby Wright
It's either Jack or Spence fo me tonight in the second and a G/C with a trade up into the second or with our 3rd round pick. Obviously landing both Jack and Spence would be a dream but I think we'll be lucky with one of the 2. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
If we come away with Ramsey, Jack and Spence I think the board would go into some kind of positivity meltdown.
Quote:If we come away with Ramsey, Jack and Spence I think the board would go into some kind of positivity meltdown. Best draft ever? Quote:Best draft ever?2014 will be hard to beat. We've got at least 4 quality starters: Bortles, Robinson, Linder, T.Smith Plus 2 players with good potential: Colvin, Lee A couple of depth guys: C. Smith, Bowanko And the best Jaguars UDFA ever: Hurns From that class. The only poor pick was Johnson in the 7th and even that was a decent pick imo because I think it'll have helped Blake. Quote:Drafttek has Myles Jack going at 50 to Atlanta, Charlie has him going 44 to Oakland. I'm pretty sure he'll be drafted tonight.Injury or not, I do NOT, under any circumstances, want Myles Jack going to Oakland-soon to be Las Vegas. Worst to 1st. Curse Reversed!
No way we take a guy (Noah Spence) that has already been to rehab at #39 here in J-ville after past player problems. Baltimore will probably grab him anyways.

JAC - OLB JOSH PERRY (alternate pick OC Max Turek) Edit: Changed one alternate pick to LB Reggie Ragland (instead of Cody Whitehair) if his heart issue is manageable. He can play OLB this year, then a great replacement for Poz next year. Heck, might even start over him at MLB this year if Poz is not 100%. 1. CB Jalen Ramsey 2. DE Emmanuel Ogbah 3. OLB Josh Perry OR 1.CB Jalen Ramsey 2. LB Reggie Ragland or Myles Jack 3. DE Carl Nassib or OC Max Turek
Quote:Injury or not, I do NOT, under any circumstances, want Myles Jack going to Oakland-soon to be Las Vegas. LOL, But don't you think it's a pretty risky move in round 2? Las Vegas Raiders... I like the Spence/westerman combo. We need to solidify the interior of the oline.
Quote:LOL, But don't you think it's a pretty risky move in round 2? Las Vegas Raiders... That's got a nice sound to it...Yes, it is quite the gamble. :woot: But if it pays off, it would pay off HUGE. Can you imagine a LB corps with Khalil Mack and Myles Jack?!? Worst to 1st. Curse Reversed!
Caldwell stated last night that Jack was high on his board at 5. If Jack is there at 38, he is the pick.
