Texans get foster and Cushing back and take QB wide receiver and cornor in the draft next year and they will be back to the play offs if they hit on that QB pick

Turnovers is what's hurting them

There d is still insane

The jags get Blackman back need a qb two guards a center a te a de a dt and an Olb and that's assuming all the rookies develop patzor sQ continues to improve poz stays and Lewis restructures to a more reasonable deal

So yup even if we sweep the Texans they are still better

The Texans have another major problem: No matter who their kicker is, he sucks. When they brought kickers in for tryouts they decided to stick with Bullock. That means there are no decent free agent kickers unless the Lions cut David Akers, which they are thinking about doing.

With 10 draft picks, we can get, in no particular order:

QB

TE

LG

C

RG

RT

DE

DT

WLB

SLB

That would fix all of our problems except depth at some positions. However, David Caldwell's first draft makes me think he wants to fix one area at a time so one year a lot of picks will be offensive linemen and another will be mostly defensive players. In that case, it takes two years to fix all 10 positions and we will have depth everywhere, so the rebuilding project can be completed in three years with the additions of some free agents.

So Caldwell is going to hit on every pick.  Wow!

Quote:For the sake of discussion, I'll give the Texans players the benefit of the doubt in their loss to the Colts after Gary Kubiak collapsed on the field at halftime. Yet, that's only one of 10 straight games that the Texans lost. When a team loses 10 straight games, the problems on that team run deep. Many of those problems will be correctable in 2014 but right now this team is on a direct path to pick # 1 of the Draft.

Houston is next season's Kansas City: new coach, new QB, and they're gonna bust wide open.

I think that's why she said he would draft several at one position and would take several years.

Try re-reading what was bolded, it was assumed it would solve all problems except depth if the positions were all addressed.  She then said it's not Caldwell's way.  Point is, she is assuming if we drafted that way it would solve all the gaps (every pick would be a  hit).  Not sure who is having the reading comprehension issues.

Even under her two year theory, still assuming every pick will be a hit.  How far fetched is that?

Tirico is one of the biggest Jaguar bashers on ESPN. He never picks us to win and was spouting the team moving and ticket sales stuff right before we mercked the Raven in that monday night game.

He was also the only booth guy to say we had no chance what so ever of beating the steelers before we shut them out. His draft takes are crap and his booth work is garbage.

Just thought this should go here....

On ESPN countdown daily -  Schlereth and Herm Edwards both picked the Jags to win tonight.....    so there's that.  ( ¯\_(ツ)_/¯)

Quote:Listening to ESPN radio on the way home from work, as I do everyday. Its SVP and Ryan R.(NO IDEA HOW TO SPELL HIS NAME)

They were doing their weekly top 5/ bottom 3 lists

Van Pelt had Texans/ Bucs/ Jags with the comment that they are in danger of losing their spot on the list if they keep up the way they are playing right now.

So then we get to the other bottom 3- Bucs/ Vikings/ and despite  the Texans having the worst record in the league "No way are the Jags better than the Texans", so we round out the 3.

Not a huge deal, but just felt like it was another ESPN  cheap shot.
You watch or listen to ESPN? Well, duh, no wonder you're perpetually miserable.

You would be much happier in life if you canned those clowns.

What lies behind us, and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us.

The potential clearly appears to be their for Houston to make a major turnaround.   They probably won't be a Super Bowl caliber team.  But with some of the core players the Texans already have,  some good additions to the Coaching and Personnel equations should set them up as a team that should be in the thick of the AFC playoff race.

This is the truth, the Texans need to dump Kubiak pronto. Keenum is not better than Schwab, and he is making them both worse by playing musical chairs.

Yes, it's improvement, but it's Blaine Gabbert 2012 level improvement. - Pirkster

I disagree, they need to extend Kubiak 10 years.
