I see DL Sheldon Day a lot like DL Ryan Davis a guy whom is mainly a 3 tech DT but can play DE (pass rushing purposes for both, but can handle the run okay).  I think in a rotation it might be Marks, Davis, Day (if he can beat out Bennett).

On paper where do you think we rank amongst the NFL?

 

Jags have continuously upgraded the roster talentwise since Caldwell's been in charge.  I think that starts to pay off this year.  With that said, it's difficult to handicap the Jags against the other AFC teams with so many possible new starters on defense.  If you want to compare roster talent position by position, you'd be fair to say we compare favorably to most of the other 16 teams with a handful of exceptions.  Gotta prove it though.

No. (8-8). We have among the worst head coaches in the NFL. See the Bengals who have one of the most talented rosters in NFL year after year yet are (0-7) in playoffs under Marvin Lewis. Coaching is everything. Even if Bortles gets this team to the playoffs, I have zero confidence Skittles could beat a Belichick, Tomlin, Andy Reid or even a Bill O'Brien.

This team struggles to win, I mean the find ways to lose.  I'm sxcited with all the additions but also have to realize it will take time for the defense to get together.

Have you forgotten about a 37 year old Tom brady absolutely annihilating the NFL to the tune of 20 Tds to 1 INT at one point last year?

 

The only reason that stopped or rather slowed down is because literally all his targets seemed to get hurt

 

Brady was gonna shatter records last season, AGAIN

I would not longer circle the team Jacksonville plays, I'm a football pool as soon as I put my name on the sheet.


When I purchase madden 17, instead of picking Seattle or New England etc.. I'll be rolling with my Jags.


I'm sorry for being super positive. I was sitting right there beside every one of you while we were the laughing stock of the NFL ever since we drafted Harvey 8th overall in 2008 all the way until this last draft.


We sucked for so long, and it is logical to talk all this patience stuff and let's watch them play a down before we call them Hall of Fame players.


But when we add 3 pro bowl players in Ivory, Gipson, Jackson.


And we sign guys like Amukamura who was a former 1st round pick. And guys like Beachum who has started many games on a good team.


Then we draft the 2 best players in the country in Ramsey and Jack.


Then we get the number 3 overall pick who was the best defensive player in the country last year.


And we get a healthy Linder and Marks back.


To go along with Telvin Smith and Poz...


It just makes me think, how in the world can we screw this up? How can we not have a home playoff game?


With Thomas, Yeldon, Robinson, Hurns, how can we not play with any team in the league?


We almost had Carolina in week 1...this year we would smash them.


Tom Brady won't just be able to go 26-28 for 350 yards with 4 TDs anymore. He would be running for his life.


Mariotta doesn't get that 90 yard run with this team.


With Linder back. JJ Watt won't sack Bortles 3 times per game.


Hopkins won't burn us for 20 catches for 200 yards.

we're tied for last place also. Let's wait and see what happens in a regular season game before we pronounce ourselves 'da kings! We've been down this road of 'oh he's the greatest (f/a, rookie, whatever) we've ever had here.... only to see said 'savior' do n o t h I n g ​except collect a check and call it a vacation.
