Game of thrones (spoilers obviously)

Quote:I don't know how you guys can follow all this in the books. I get lost in the TV show and apparently that's the watered down version. The books are very dense, very wordy and I've only managed to read 3 of them. Sometimes less is more. I had to stop reading Stephen King because it seemed to take him 100 pages to get through a simple scene. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
There was mention somewhere that Rickon may not be the innocent kid anymore and that may not have been Shaggydog. The guy- Umbar?- who brought him in obviously hates the Boltons, or at least Ramsey, so why give up a Stark? I think there is more to it.
The Oathbreaker was probably the Umber's. They traded out Rickon Stark to Ramsay Bolton. Turning it's back on the North in a sense.

I think the reference to oathbreaker was Jon Snow returning from the dead.

I've found this link which has an interesting take on it

Quote:There could be more to it than that. The wolfs head was small and it might be a ploy just to get the boltons out of winterfell and into the openI'm hoping so. In the books one of the Umbers are stationed outside Winterfell's walls setting up traps and pit falls and blowing warhorns trying to lure them out. This could be the show writers way of doing that I suppose. That is one hell of a risk though, bringing presumably the only true living son of Ned Stark into the Bolton's hands in the hopes that they might go outside where you have a trap set. The Umber's know that Ramsay killed his father, and they know how much of a total psycho the dude is, so that is a pretty huge risk. One thing though, is that the Umber's in the books completely despise wildlings, being that their house/castle Last Hearth is the Northern most castle in the North besides the Nights Watch castles, so they deal with a lot of pillaging and raids and abductions from the wildlings. So, maybe because Jon has allowed a hell of a lot of wildlings through the wall and is allowing them to settle south of the wall, that pretty much just set off the Umbers and now they are going to ally with someone they hate to destroy someone they hate a bit more. Hopefully not though. Wouldn't surprise me a bit if we see the pink letter delivered to Jon within the next few episodes with a "piece" of Rickon to go along with it. Edit: Also now that I think about it, any time one of the Direwolves is killed, the characters always have a sense that something has happened, and the other Direwolves usually show some emotions to it as well. They may be saving that scene for the next episode, because I would imagine we would have seen Ghost howling or maybe seen something from Jon in the final scene of the last episode. The Starks and the direwolves are all linked together very closely and we are shown that quite often throughout the series(Books and show, mainly books though). Maybe we will get a Bran scene in the next episode where it confirms what happened to Shaggydog.

Quote:So who do we think was the Oathbreaker? Quote:I think the reference to oathbreaker was Jon Snow returning from the dead. Yea, technically Jon Snow can leave the night's watch because he died. I guess that means he fulfilled his oath, so he is not an oath breaker, unless they were intending it to be intentionally obtuse.

Quote:Yea, technically Jon Snow can leave the night's watch because he died. I guess that means he fulfilled his oath, so he is not an oath breaker, unless they were intending it to be intentionally obtuse. It also doesn't necessarily have to refer to a person. The act of his resurrection could be the Oathbreaker. I'm not convinced they're referring to Jon though.
I don't think Jon's departure of the Wall is an oath breaker though. He died. He was slain by his own brothers in a sense. So he technically fulfilled his obligation as a Crow. You could counter argue that the Oath was broken and repaired by Jon in regards to Thorne and Olly who murdered him last year.
There could be something there about the Umber's and Rickon Stark. You have to remember a very important line that Sansa was fed in Winterfell while under Ramsay's posession. "The North remembers, Lady Sansa". I don't think that was thrown out there just for good will. I truly think that there is some moves being made behind the scene. AND. Here is another wildcard. Where is Littlefinger? At some point he's going to come back into the fold. He can't just sit back and allow Varys to have all the fun this season can he? Maybe Littlefinger has something else up his sleeve. I think he cared for Cat Stark and I think he cares for Sansa because of the resemblance. And even though he betrayed Ned years ago. In fairness, Ned had MULTIPLE chances to get out of King's Landing alive. And Joffrey's decision to behead him may not have been so easily seen. Maybe at the time Littlefinger and even Varys had too much faith in Cersei's ability to control and manipulate her son. So just keep that in mind. Maybe Rickon's direwolf still lives. But of course, despite all of this. You can't forget that it was Robb Stark who kind of divided the North a bit family wise. But, in a way. I think Robb's decision to kill a family leader who betrayed his word and trust would have fallen in line with what his father Ned would have done in that very same situation. The Bolton's cannot be trusted. The Red Wedding made that clear. The murder of his father in cold blood has made that clear. A Stark must remain in the North. They will rally behind Jon at some point. He's a Stark by half-blood with Lyana being his mother. ![]() "What do I know of cultured ways, the gilt, the craft and the lie? I really hope Sansa doesn't miss Jon at the wall. I'd like to see the Starks slowly reunite, they have been just missing each other since the first season.
I'm with Eric, I watch the show and have no idea what you people are talking about. lol

^ Yup, the North is easily my favorite part of the show. Would love to see a super team of Jon, Sansa, Brienne, Davos, the Wildlings, maybe Bran and hopefully The Blackfish.
I'm sure the GoT world will end up doing the opposite of what I would like to see happen though. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
