Questions to the board: Tipping Point Reached?

Quote:Blackmon was suspended for at least half of that year.Yeah and Mojo and Forsett were both still better then Gerhart... You dont have to pull up their stats.. I was ask about players i liked... And those were some. Speaking of Gerhart a guy Gus and Dave love. What happen there? He was suppose to be our savior .. A lot of people on this board loved the pick.. And i hated it..I knew he was slow and unproven, and felt we should have kept Mojo. Hmmm we could have even drafted Davonte Freeman... But this team didnt have talent .. Right!! Its maybe because they selected the wrong talent at first. Anybody seen Ace Sanders?Smh We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!

Mojo didn't do a thing after leaving. Yoboy being clueless yet again. Quote:Lowery played 3 games in 13 and Mincey played 8. It was amazing we won any games in 13. Yoboy is clueless. The 2013 team was just awful. Yo Boy is just grasping at straws to push his primary agenda. Quote:I've never seen any kind of fire from bradley to make me think he has some will to winThis post is so chalked full of pointless it's tough to respond. Bradley has no fire? Where exactly have you had your head inserted over the past few seasons? Not sure what his beer belly has to do with anything. I didn't realize coaches were required to have the chiseled bodies of Greek gods in order to be eligible to run a team. Someone probably needs to let Andy Reid know this. Never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.
Quote:Mojo didn't do a thing after leaving. Yoboy being clueless yet again.no one did lowery continues to make one play a year n some how still gets paid lol the only one we dropped u can say has produced consistently or even enough to help their team win games would be Daryl Smith an Brandon Marshall every othe scrub that was let go has done nothing from ace Sanders to Greg Jones

Even Marshall still spent a year on the Denver PS I believe

Quote:Kelly's offense and Bradley's defense are the same gimmicky crap that should get a coach fired.Kelly's offense is just an up-tempo hurry up designed to gas the D and take advantage of mismatches. Not really HIS offense, since, ya know, hurry up has been around... Bradley's defense is another example of people talking out of their butts. Call the positions whatever you want.... Bradley didn't invent some new defense. That gimmicky crap won Seattle a SB. That gimmicky hurry up has been a staple of many QBs, including Manning, for many years. Also on note in this thread, if this team wins 8 or 9 games but does not get the division or wild card, you can start your hand wringing now... Bradley isn't going anywhere lol I love how you guys want to dig up some old coach and get rid of Bradley. So... the NY Giants fired TC becuz he was too good? Maybe we should call up Bill Cowher.... I'm sure he isn't rusty from sitting at those desks... when will the madness stop. oh yeah... teh interwebz, i forget. Quote:Yeah and Mojo and Forsett were both still better then Gerhart... Quote:Kelly's offense is just an up-tempo hurry up designed to gas the D and take advantage of mismatches. Yeah, why would we ever want a coach who actually won in this league? What a stupid idea. We should keep hiring the next thing and hope that maybe that works someday. “An empty vessel makes the loudest sound, so they that have the least wit are the greatest babblers.”. - Plato

So was Belicheck, Jimmy Johnson, Walsh, Cowher, Gibbs, and every other great coach. 2. While I do not intend to disparage TC, I would be remiss if I did not point out TC had not had a winning season since 2012. I am left to wonder how that happened. Did he somehow forget how to coach? Did he suffer from a decline in on field talent? Worst to 1st. Curse Reversed!

Quote:1. At one point, TC was a coach that had never actually won in this league. So was Belicheck, Jimmy Johnson, Walsh, Cowher, Gibbs, and every other great coach.Couldn't agree more every coach at one point was a scrub u can pin point where in their career they turned it around based on talent n where their career took an inevitable down fall based on talent u can say oh well drafting was bad salary cap hell yada yada yada it all comes back to players not plays Quote:The cover 2 is not gimmicky because multiple teams have run it successfully for over 15 years, often without a loaded lineup. We've reached the point where it's been solved, but it's a staple not a gimmick. Right now the defense Gus wants to use basically works in 1 place, and only there because they have all-pro talent to run it. Dungy just couldn't put the offense together to get over the hump in Tampa, but he was a defensive coach, and having Manning in Indy really helped improve his glaring weakness. Bradley is a defensive coach who can't field a decent defense while trying to shoehorn in guys who aren't a scheme fit. Dungy coached Indy, he didn't copy Tampa Bay. A case can be made for the scheme producing All-Pros instead of requiring All-Pros to make it work.

Quote:A case can be made for the scheme producing All-Pros instead of requiring All-Pros to make it work. I really don't think it's either/or. I think you do need the talent, but some schemes require less talent (or less specific skill sets) than others. Cover 2 requires zone corners, Gus's defense requires athletic pass rushers. Reggie White could've played in any scheme and been successful, but James Harrison was great in a specific one and completely unfit for others. Look at Bryce Paup when he came here, it wasn't lack of effort, it was a poor scheme for him. Sapp, Lynch, Rice, and Brooks would've been great anywhere, but Rhonde Barber? He was the right fit for the scheme. My issue continues to be that we are playing a very specific scheme without the very specific players needed to be great, and Gus "didn't know what else to do" with the players he had. “An empty vessel makes the loudest sound, so they that have the least wit are the greatest babblers.”. - Plato
Quote:1. At one point, TC was a coach that had never actually won in this league. So was Belicheck, Jimmy Johnson, Walsh, Cowher, Gibbs, and every other great coach. True, but at some point this franchise needs to find that guy or hire one who already is. Bradley isn't that guy or going to be that guy IMO. “An empty vessel makes the loudest sound, so they that have the least wit are the greatest babblers.”. - Plato
Quote:True, but at some point this franchise needs to find that guy or hire one who already is. Bradley isn't that guy or going to be that guy IMO.Time may yet prove you to be right (though I hope not). To me, the sad part is the roster was in such disarray that we have to debate this about Bradley, as opposed to just looking at his record and judging him solely on that. Do what it takes to give Caldwell a freaking lifetime contract. Worst to 1st. Curse Reversed!

Good discussion on all sides. At this point in the off-season I'm just happy we still have all our starters healthy enough to be projected to be available at the start of training camp.
I am highly critical of Bradley, but he's the head coach so no use complaining about it right now. But let's face it, the corner has been turned. The talent on this team is there. This is an above .500 team. Caldwell's job is safe. If Gus is a true coach, he needs to prove it this season. This team needs to come out sharp and well prepared come September. If we come out flat and play sloppy, inconsistent football it's gonna be clear where the responsibility falls. Here's hoping Bradley has figured out how to be successful in the nfl. The jaguars and its fans have waited long enough. Quote:Good discussion on all sides. At this point in the off-season I'm just happy we still have all our starters healthy enough to be projected to be available at the start of training camp. I agree completely with this part in bold. If you were to do a position by position comparison with each team on the schedule, I think you'd find the Jaguars are better than most teams. For instance, take Green Bay. QB:-Rodgers is a Super Bowl winning QB, multiple pro bowls/All Pro nods, and easily among the best in the game. Bortles is young and has promise, having thrown for 35 TDs and over 4000 yards last year, but he isn't yet at Rodgers level. Edge Packers. RB-Chris Ivory and TJ yeldon form a good 1-2 punch. Lacy got on McCarthy's bad side with weight issues. By most reports, he is in good shape this year, but the edge goes to Jacksonville and the depth. WR/TE-Jordy Nelson had some great seasons until tearing his ACL and missing all of last year. He is now 31. Without him, the productivity of the rest of the receivers fell off. Cobb only averaged just over 10 ypc. They signed Cook as a TE from the Rams. Jacksonville has two of the top young WRs in the game. Hurns and Robinson both caught over 10 TDs last year and both caught passes in excess of 1000 yards. After a slow start due to injury, Julius Thomas came on late last year at one point catching TDs in five straight games down the stretch. Edge: Jaguars. OL-Both OLs were sieves last year, giving up over 90 sacks combined between the two teams. Edge: even DL-Packers are down BJ Raji (retirement), and NT is uncertain for them. They added Kenny Clark out of UCLA, who should help. But then they thought that about Datone Jones. The Jaguars added Malik Jackson to a group that includes SenDerrick Marks, veteran NT Roy Miller, rookie Sheldon Day, and 2nd year guy Mike Bennett, giving them an effective rotation at DT and versatility at DE. Oh year, they also added Dante Fowler, who missed all of last year with an ACL-Edge: Jaguars LB-If Peppers has anything left in the tank, he would team with Clay Matthews, Jr, who is returning to OLB to form a formidable pass rushing combo. But he is 36 this year. Jacksonville now has two of the youngest and fastest LBs in the league with Telvin Smith and rookie Myles Jack. Edge: Jaguars. DB: If healthy, the two best DBs on the field will play for the Jaguars in rookie Jalen Ramsey and Tayshaun Gipson. K-Edge: Packers From a talent perspective, this team can match up with most teams. Worst to 1st. Curse Reversed!
Quote:SMH. Lol you guys get soo anal when people have different opinions... Im laughing literally... What am i wrong about?? Its my opinion... But what you can do is try your hardest to validate how good of a coach Gus is! Then i will show you how wrong you are.. |
