All AFC South team ?

Quote:Whoa. Mariota over Bortles? Grant over Denard, Gore, or even Gerhart? Lester and McAffe are better punters than Anger. I think Greene is more of a slot receiver.Sorry I meant at TE. I mean until we see him play at PreSeason who knows but I am really positive on Corey Grant becoming a star in his rookie season... We show less advertisements to registered users. Based on the handful of Tennessee games I've seen the last 3 seasons, there's no question on this end that Jurrell Casey has been the best player on the team's roster during this period. I think he's one of the most underrated players in the NFL. The type of player who fits practically any Defensive scheme. Glad we dont have to see it twice a year. (ofc both would play outside end roles in a 3-4 but the additional pass rushing would be insane with all the blitzs from the OLB and IILB that Dick would throw in. Quote:Could you imagine Marks and Casey together with LeBeau? Glad we dont have to see it twice a year. One thing for sure, Dick LeBeau is a terrific hire for Tennessee. The fact that LeBeau and Tennessee Defensive Coordinator Ray Horton are friends and respect each other can only help Tennessee. Whether they have enough playmakers on Defense beyond Jurrell Casey is one of the major question marks with that franchise heading into the 2015 season.
PFF's analysis of Telvin is spot on. There are times where he literally looks like the best LB in the NFL, and then there are times where his rookie underwear is showing.
I'm excited to see if he can stay consistent this year

Hopefully with the addition of Parnell and the drafting of Cann the Jags can change that thought quickly. Maybe even Zane Beadles will have a nice little "comeback" season. Quote:These lists make me weep! Division needs a talent infusion. Football isn't played by those with big names. The NFC south had tremendous name recognition last year but they were worse than the AFC south. I expect things aren't as bad as they seem as far of talent. Hopefully this year well show we have great talent across the team and close the gap on the Colts (who have luck and not much else).
Let's bring this one back and see what's changed....
After the draft and free agency, who should be in the All AFC South team this season? This was NFL.coms list ahead of the 2015 season... Quote:Let's bring this one back and see what's changed....OFFENSE Quarterback: Andrew Luck, Colts [This is really by the slimmest of margins, and I give Luck just a slight nod over our own Bortles, post 2016 season I EXPECT a different opinion from myself] Running back: Chris Ivory, Jaguars (I almost picked DeMarco) Wide receiver: T.Y. Hilton, Colts Wide receiver: Allen Robinson, Jaguars Wide receiver: DeAndre Hopkins, Texans Tight end: Julius Thomas, Jaguars Tight end: [if they pick 3 WRs, I'm picking 2 TEs] Delanie Walker, Titans Tackle: Beachum, Jaguars Guard: Chance Warmack, Titans Center: Ryan Kelly, Colts Guard: Brandon Linder, Jaguars [I kept Linder here as his original spot] Tackle: Duane Brown, Texans DEFENSE Defensive end: J.J. Watt, Texans Defensive tackle: Jurrell Casey, Titans Defensive tackle: Malik Jackson, Jaguars Defensive end: Robert Mathis, Colts Outside linebacker: Derrick Morgan, Titans Inside linebacker: D'Qwell Jackson, Colts Outside linebacker: Brian Orakpo, Titans Cornerback: Vontae Davis, Colts Cornerback: Johnathan Joseph, Texans Safety: Gipson, Jaguars Safety: Da'Norris Searcy, Titans SPECIAL TEAMS Returner: Phillip Dorsett, Colts Kicker: Adam Vinatieri, Colts Punter: Pat McAfee, Indianapolis Colts
Luck needs to show he's better than Bortles this season to make the team. It should be Bortles
Quote:Luck needs to show he's better than Bortles this season to make the team. It should be Bortles Based on historical performance, Luck still gets the nod until Blake does it again. However, considering I've heard reports that Luck's shoulder may never be back to what is was and he was already pretty turnover prone (a stat most tend to forget with Luck) I think Bortles outplays him this year.
IT WAS ALWAYS THE JAGS
I agree with Kane for the most part, but Telvin should get one of the outside LB spots

Historically Luck has been pretty mediocre to bad. And if you're one of those people that likes to harp on Bortles INT numbers then you'll really need to sit down when you see Luck's.
Luck has played 4 seasons, with 1 of these being at a high level. Bortles has played 2 seasons with 1 being at a high level. This is despite Bortles being far more raw coming out than Luck. Bortles is the best QB in the division until someone unseats him this year or in the future.
Jaguar Wise:
From Offense: Blake Bortles Allen Robinson Allen Hurns Julius Thomas Brandon Linder From Defense: Telvin Smith Myles Jack Jalen Ramsey ![]() "What do I know of cultured ways, the gilt, the craft and the lie? I, who was born in a naked land and bred in the open sky. The subtle tongue, the sophist guile, they fail when the broadswords sing; Rush in and die, dogs - I was a man before I was a king."

Oh I'm with you. I don't think Luck is all that. I think Blake is the better QB. Just meant that since Luck has been around longer and thrown a bunch of tds a few times, he gets the benefit of the doubt till Blake does it again. I fully expect Blake to officially overtake him this year.

And if you're one of those people that likes to harp on Bortles INT numbers then you'll really need to sit down when you see Luck's.If by historically Luck has been mediocre to bad by throwing for the most yards ever by anyone in their first 3 seasons, then yes, you are correct. Otherwise, no. Also, Luck has more wins in his rookie season, 11 compared to Bortles 6 in two seasons. Both had bad defenses, horrible O-lines, no run game and only a good receiving corps to rely on. So you explain why Luck wins and Bortles doesn't. Both teams play in the AFC South and play against each other's horrible defenses. Both teams play in the AFC South and play against each other's horrible defenses. The two rookie seasons rosters aren't even comparable. get outta here with that. Bortles rookie season was a roster full of rookies. Luck had all sorts of vets. Also believe it or not, the clots D was better than the Jaguars D. Also... no one is saying that Luck wasn't the better QB coming out of college. But NOW... Luck has regressed, and wasn't playing well last season. But....carry on. Quote:The two rookie seasons rosters aren't even comparable.Aside from Reggie Wayne and Robert Mathis, name the roster full of veterans? Luck played with T.Y. Hilton, Whalen, Brazill, Fleener, D.Allen, and Vick Ballard -- all rookies on offense. I'm sorry but there are more similarities between the two teams, (which had to rebuild) than you are giving credit for. I do agree that the Colts defense was better than the Jaguars defense, but it was not a good defense. Average would be a good description at moments. Below average is far more suitable. The post that I responded to mentioned that Luck had been mediocre to bad, to which I responded that he had the best 3-year start of any QB in history, as far as passing yards are concerned. He also had a great start as far as wins and TDs are concerned. Yes, the INTs are an issue, but he still compensates that by winning. Luck has improved every year he has been in the league, with the exception of the one year that he was injured (last year). You are going to base your analysis that he regressed on 1 year -- the only year he was injured -- and ignore the other three years? Is that an intellectually honest approach? |
