I'm not saying we should sign him if they cut him. I just think it'd be hilarious to sign the guy for free after trading him away for 2 picks.

doubt he would sign here, but I would definitely kick the tires if he was interested in reuniting. LT has not even been average since he left.

"The move also helps Baltimore's cap situation, creating $6.5 million in space. The Ravens, though, will take on $2.2 million in dead money in 2016 and $4.4 million in 2017."

This is what will eventually make our excruciatingly painful rebuild worth it...  Our cap is in such good shape that we won't have any dead money problems in the near future.

Even if Malik Jackson flames out with that enormous contract, I'm pretty sure he would be off the books in 2 years (3 max), and we're a long way from having to push guaranteed money out over the length of long-term contracts like Baltimore did with Monroe.

Correct me if I'm wrong.

I don't see him signing here.  I don't know that he really adds much to our team.

Beachum was better the last time he was healthy than Monroe was the last time he was healthy.

He is on the books through 2020, but after 3 years the hit is only $6 million. Usually you can google the player name and team and get the info from spotrac or overthecap , maybe other places as well.

manure....

his availability and declining ability, coupled with his 6.5 salary are the sole reasons for him being cut.

A lot of players are advocates of legalizing, medical, etc....

I don't buy this side story at all, personally.

OT:

I don't want him. We shouldn't want him. He likely doesn't want to come here.

We have Beachum. And Joker hasn't been so horrible we should start grasping at any straw available for the OL.

FWIW, he does have a point.  The substance he's advocating is pretty harmless, especially compared to all the narcotics they're given to manage their pain.

Hensley: Monroe deal will go down as Ravens' worst
The Baltimore Ravens announced the release of offensive tackle Eugene Monroe on Wednesday, closing the book on the worst deal in the franchise's history. Monroe was cut just 27 months after the Ravens gave him $17.5 million in guaranteed money. All Baltimore got in return was 17 starts.

Man, it ain't often that Ozzie gets fleeced so it really stands out when he does. And he doesn't even go into the fact that Monroe cost them a Fifth Round pick either.

Upon further review, the reason the Ravens probably chose to mention this in his release at all was they're still getting over the Ray Rice debacle.

If there's any chance for them to look as if taking a moral stand or seeking high ground, they'll take any + they can give themselves.
