Around the NFL has Blake #2

#41

Mariota's game is precision. He is accurate and has a lightning quick release. His footwork and mechanics were unreal for a rookie. Plus he has some wheels. His weaknesses are the deep ball and his slight frame. He's basically the polar opposite of Bortles in terms of playing style, but every bit as talented in his own way. Frankly, the only thing I don't like about him is that he plays for the stinkin' tacks. Anybody saying he is no good is out to lunch.
Make the Jags Great Again
Blake Bortles......YOU'RE FIRED!
Dave Caldwell.....YOU'RE FIRED!

Quote:If this team wins they can rank him 50th for all I care.

Quote:That's supposed to be tongue in cheek from a Gator fan, I actually think Winston is a lot better than that.  But in all seriousness, I'd still rank Bortles, Carr, and Mariota higher than him.  Bortles and Carr should need no explanation but I think people are missing a little on Mariota, they forget Bortles had a pretty bad year his first year too.
I don't buy Mariota as a long term NFL QB anymore than I do Teddy Bridgewater.

Teddy is pretty low on my bar.

Mariota just above him every so slightly.

But I like Carr, Bortles, Winston, Cousins, Goff, Luck, and a slew of other young QBs more than Mariota and especially more than Teddy.

In my opinion.... the slight frame and his inability to throw it deep will be his ending.

You gotta have the deep threat at least.... otherwise defenses can key in on you more often. And if he gets banged around like BB5 did his first two seasons, he might not make a 3rd. He already has missed time.

The best ability is.......

ya know.

I'd take Mariota over Cousins, Goff and Wentz.

That's ok, you'll find out soon enough.  He's going to be a long term thorn in the Jag's side I'm afraid.  Not that we can't overcome it.

I'm condescending. That means I talk down to you.

If you mean he'll be a thorn in the Jaguars side the way Chad Pennington was a thorn in the Patriots side then maybe you're right, but I can live with it.

I don't see him becoming a better QB than someone like that. Efficient, wins some games, doesn't impact the big dogs around him.
