Best episode of the season by far. In contention for best episode of the series. Kit Harington was phenomenal.

Now that I'm more awake.....

Kudos for Kit Harrington bringing the emotions of Jon Snow right before, during, and after the battle. I wasn't sure what to expect but he brought it. He made Jon Snow's rage, despondency, fear, hate, and resignation so real you could feel it through the television. He is not the same Jon Snow that "knew nothing" anymore. I think Ygritte would be proud of how he handled it all. The only kink is he did play into Bolton's hand when he went after Rockin instead of remaining calm and letting the original battle plan happen. But you can't really blame him.

Either Sansa didn't know for sure Littlefinger would come through for her or she is a total idiot for not telling Jon about them coming. If she knew and had told him, they may still have been late but the men already there would have known back-up was coming and that would have done much for morale.

I try to like Dany but I just can't. Everything about that storyline was fine but I still can't seem to like her.

Overall it was a great episode and the first one I've seen non-streaming and on a new HDTV. I'm in upstate NY visiting family and they have cable and this new TV. Even on our best day with internet Netflix and Amazon don't look as clear as what they have here. Also, our HDTV is almost 10 years old. What a difference! So yeah, GREAT episode to watch with cable and a new TV.

Honestly, the best episode of the season by far, and quite possibly the best of the series. Incredible from start to finish.

Where the heck was wolf during all this? I was fully expecting to see him be the one to eat Ramsey.

Can't wait to go home and watch this episode again. This and Hardhome are easily my two favorite episodes.

He better not be expecting anything. He's lucky she didn't throw his [BLEEP] in with the hounds.

My favorite is still the battle of the blackwater but that episode was great and met every expectation I either had or didn't know I had.

was the vale where he has slowly been usurping an unstable boy. Manderlays are for some reason not in the show.

This was my second favorite episode, I think, right after hardhome. I would have preferred that kept it a bottle episode all around Jon and the battle but even the Mereen stuff couldn't ruin the episode. A couple of thoughts:

1. Jon throughout the whole episode was one of the best displays of acting I have seen in a long time, specifically at the end with the shield and Ramsay.

2. That Sansa smile at the end. She is still a bit of a jerk for not telling Jon about the Knights of the Vale but still. This is very clearly not season 1-4 Sansa.

3. Anyone a little disappointed in the final "fight" with Ramsay? I felt like we deserved more of an actual fight. He has been portrayed as a warrior and a fine one at that. Jon is as well, luckily Kit's acting made me not think about that until after the fact. Still, I'll take it that was a fitting ending for him. Meat's back on the menu boys!!!!! WOOF.

This was the best episode of the series for me.

1. This was one of the best battle scenes I've ever seen. It will go down as being on Saving Private Ryan and Lord of the Rings level of legendary IMO.

2. Ramsay being the world's most arrogant and manipulative prick even when surrounded at Winterfell was amazing. That actor really deserves a lot of credit.

3. Jon Snow's struggle throughout the entire episode... from the battle plan to Rickon's death to the battlefield to the suffocation...... absolutely breathtaking

4. Davos finding the wooden piece he gave to Shireen and realizing how it is she died was one of the best shot scenes of the entire series.

5. The first time seeing all three dragons together as adults and they immediately start wreck enemies. Viserion and Rhaegal don't get enough love. This is the first time we saw them show off their skills.

And even with all that awesomeness, my favorite part of the entire episode was the exchange between Tyrion/Dany and Yara/Theon.

I mentioned before it was the best movie battle scene I've ever seen. From Jon's enraged charge, his own cavalry overtaking him and meeting Bolton's head on, the beautiful portrayal of the fog of war to that encircling phalanx, literally suffocating Snow and his forces. The look on Ramsey's face when the Knights of the Vale arrived.

Brilliant. Absolutely brilliant.

If Kit Harrington doesn't get an Emmy for best dramatic actor, and Iwan Rheon for best supporting actor, I'll be shocked.
