Definitely Harvey.  Should have known though when he said he was working out using folding chairs during his holdout.  There's also this:

Byron Leftwich.

I know the OP asked for players, but I also had high hopes when Gene Smith was promoted to GM. Instead he dug a hole from which they're still trying to emerge.

Has to be Gabbert. My initial reaction when he fell in the draft and we moved up to get him was disappointment as I had convinced myself he was going to bust and that he'd be off the board before we had a chance at him anyway. Then when we got him I convinced myself that he could be good and always thought he was about to turn the corner. He's still trying to get around that same corner.

Blackmon, Nelson, and I also thought Joeckel was gonna be one of the best tackles in the game. Turned out to be a joke

The shelf life of that video is amazing. It just doesn't get old.

Draft Wise: Derrick Harvey - We gave up a lot to go up and get him coming off one of our first play-off appearances in a long time. He was a tremendous let down.

Free Agency Wise: Who Douglas - Again, been searching for that wrecking ball off the edge since Brackens retired. Can't seem to get it right. Failed with Hayward and Kampman too.

I was pretty pleased with Hayward prior to the achilles injury, so I can't be disappointed because of that.

Matt Jones, Byron Leftiwich, Justin Blackmon, Blaine Gabbert but seems really happy in SF. Heard he could be the starter as it is the right team that you need to really sync in rythem with.

Marcedes Lewis.

He came in during the TE surge and i thought we honestly had another Vernon Davis type. Huge size with tons of athletic ability and dude turns out to be a blocker.

Reggie Williams, Matt Jones, Andre Branch, Harvey, Luke Joekel, and Bryan Anger are some obvious choices to me. Some in house high hopes guys like D'Anthony Smith, Deji Karim, Zach Miller, and Ace Sanders.

I thought Aaron Kampman was going to be the start of our franchise turning around.
