EURO 2016's

Quote:LOL.

Good luck with that.

I'd say it's pretty 50/50 at the moment. If Real Madrid want to give us 40 million for a 29 year old I ain't going to complain. He only cost us 10 million.

He's just gone up in my estimation.

I thought he was a free transfer? Still 10 mil was a steal.

Given the hooliganism this year with much of it being politically or racially driven, Rio is going to be a complete mess IMO.

I personally think they need to take the 2018 World Cup away from Russia too!

I'd love to travel and see a few WC matches. I'd be real hesitant to go to Russian matches though, with their reputation for severe hooliganism. I imagine it will probably deter alot of fans in 2018 that would normally try to make that trek.

I'd hate to spend alot of money traveling and going to matches for an excellent time, just to have it ruined by a bunch of drunken, loud, racist punks.

Heck, sometimes attending NFL games gets pretty bad by a small portion of fanbases. But, soccer/futbol hooliganism is just on another level from that.

No thank you.

Exactly right.. in Russia, surrounded by Russian's who know the back alleys and side streets... no, not for me either.

I support a lower league soccer/football team, there tends to be a little bit of violence at the occasional game (local rivalries et al), but nothing on this level. Luckily, football hooliganism in the UK nosedived in the late 80's/early 90's. Naturally, it's still there, but you do have to look for it these days to find it..

Watching football with a women is excruciatingly frustrating. Actually any sport for that matter.

What is it with this tournament and late goals? That's three more tonight and Ireland have now joined England, Wales and N Ireland in the knockout rounds.

I think it's great that so many of the "smaller" nations have made it through to the knockout stages. Especially the ones at their first tournament.

Same, except the winner also wins full unopposed ownership of the 6 counties that were stolen.

Slightly related note: the Irish faithful are truly a class act.

To quote Ed Byrne: Limerick, you're a lady. A big, ugly, scary, lady with a knife.
