You are also the same gent who thought it cute to use the killing of police officers to make a jab about "good guys with guns".

This could have been done with common hunting rifles. Your solution is to ban those?

Some of those "mass shootings" they had back the day is Aussie land were with a bolt action .22. Yes, that would have to be his solution. And if only cops have guns then the two people in the other threads would still be just as dead.

I don't think everyone should be carrying either, clearly American cops have a problem that requires we take their weapons away.

Probably not many. Less guns tends to lead to less murders as we all know...

Actually, that's not true but you can't be convinced.

The murder rate in the US is about double that of any Western European country and four times that of Australia.

Yet the common denominator in every instance is a bad guy pulling the trigger. Yes, the gun is most often the weapon of choice, but it's only a weapon. Are you open-minded enough to consider the possibility that the real problem is the person who wishes to do harm to others? Taking away the guns doesn't solve the problem, it just forces them to select another weapon.

It is so much easier to kill with a gun than any other weapon.

So what do you do? What's the answer? Massive surveillance? Watching everyone all the time? If we're not willing to disarm everyone, then we have to closely monitor every single person in the country. Like the novel "1984." Big Brother is watching you. Is that our future? Everyone walking around with a gun, and some sort of government mechanism to monitor everyone and intervene in split seconds if they decide someone is about to pull their gun and start shooting? Is the 2nd Amendment so sacrosanct that we give up all our other rights so we can have guns?

And yet it still isn't the leading cause(method) of homicides in the US.

Correlation =\= Causation. You know this.

If you give up the Second you'll have no other rights.

There is NO quick and easy solution that will prevent all forms of violence, gun or otherwise, simply because there are numerous and hugely varied motives for the violence. If you're talking about acts of terrorism, gun restrictions will do absolutely nothing to prevent or diminish the problem.

When you get into the endzone, act like you've been there before.

That's what they don't get. It isn't the gun, it's the person. There's simply no getting around that and the evils done to the unarmed populations in our history far exceeds the difficulties we face right now.

That's not the case among Americans of European ancestry. Compare apples to apples.
