What makes you think the Jags are still going to be able to get Bridgewater at this point? They aren't getting the #1 pick, and likely won't be picking even in the top 5.

If there were a team that is equally starved for a QB as we are, it's the Texans... or perhaps the Vikings.


Would St. Louis move on from Bradford, and use their high pick by way of Washington to draft Bridgewater? (Assuming the Texans grabbed someone else, which is doubtful.)

If the Texans get the first overall pick, they are getting a QB, whether that would mean they draft one with their 1st overall pick or get one in the 2nd round.

I'm hearing the Texans might have salary cap issues next year that would prevent them from landing a high priced QB like Cutler so drafting one is the obvious choice, also we'll likely be picking from 5-10 range so a trade for Teddy is highly unlikely. Carr and Bridgewater will be out of our reach unfortunately.

I could very much see them going that route if they promote Wade Phillips to HC. If they get a new offensive head coach I think that increases the chance they draft a QB.

They have a lot of money tied up in long term deals. Most of those are with players over 30 (Andre Johnson, Matt Schaub, Johnathan Joseph) or injured (Arian Foster, Brian Cushing).

 

And this offseason they will have to likely replace Antonio Smith, Ben Tate and Garrett Graham.

 

They have not drafted that well the last few seasons so they don't have guys waiting to step into those roles.

 

They will probably have the first pick but it's no quick fix there.

Couple things.. I agree on most but Crick can replace Smith and Tate shouldn't be that hard to replace but on the rest, you are right. Don't think they are a QB away like KC was.
