The speech writer made a statement in which she says that she talked with Mrs. Trump on the phone about the speech, and Mrs. Trump said that she likes Mrs. Obama.  Mrs. Trump read a few quotes over the phone to reiterate her position and the speech writer wrote them down.  They got incorporated into the speech which the final wasn't proofread by the speech writer.  The speech writer owned the responsibility for the distraction, and offered her resignation to the Trump campaign.  Here is a link to NBC news as they are reporting it.

 

However, the story is still a non-story.

I wasn't old enough to live through the Kennedy days, but I've seen a lot of footage of Jaqualine (sp), pretty sure that was her name. When Melania walked out on stage that is who I thought of. Not that it matters though. The speech is a non issue. All the wives have similar speeches. The Left is scared, they're reaching for whatever they can.
