Blake Bortles Qb Ucf

Wait, HeeRo is banned for what he said on a different Forum?

As long as somebody is abiding by the Rules and Regulations of this forum, they should not be banned. What is next? Banning posters for unpaid parking tickets or for voting for a certain political party?

He brought a whole bunch of trolls from his different forum to this forum.

Quote:TMD, you're late to the party about HeeRo and his somewhat controversial usage of word from another forum.

Yeah, I would doubt that they'd ban him for saying something on another board. As for bringing trolls here?....how could someone hold him responsible? Wouldn't the trolls be booted or not by their own content?

Someone linked to a thread on that forum and they coordinated an effort to troll this board and apparently he played a big part in that.

If I had to guess, I'd guess that HeeRo probably created an Alt to participate in the trolling attempt, which also got his main banned (he was already warned, so it wasn't his first offense).

On the subject of Bortles though... I'm not sure.  I've never watched a whole game of his, but I've watched snippets.  Sometimes I'm thinking "Wow, he's pretty good."  and at other times I'm like... "Really?"

I was wrong about Trent Baalke.

Welp, then....don't do the crime if ya ain't willing to do the time, as they say....

He reaps what he sows, then.

Yes, thats possible re: HeeRo.

As far as Bortles....the only thing that concerns me is he had like 4 games this season in which he didn't throw a single TD. Thats quite a bit of "ineffective" for my taste at the position. Now, admittedly I don't know a whole lot about UCF, so it could just be that they have an offense otherwise similar to the situation that Andrew Luck has right now with the Colts, i.e. basically very little weapons on offense other than the QB.....but I don't know if that is the case with UCF....

Bortles receivers had a tough time getting open, they had a nice drive going and Godfrey (former QB) fumbled. I like that Bortles took what the defense gave him on the ground though, he made it happen out there.

Do you ever write posts that don't have hypotheticals in them?

I said in another post that I know very little about scouting, or college football, but I just have a gut feeling this guy will be the best QB in this draft in a few years. I am probably wrong...but it's a feeling I have.

Anyways this article was on nfl.com, I thought it was interesting.

I honestly think him and McCarron will be the best qbs of this class. I don't see the obsession everyone has with Carr.

When I see Bortles play, he looks like a Roethlisberger clone.

I keep going back and forth on Bortles.  I don't know what to think anymore.

I'm the same way honestly. I see why people are high on him. He has the tools and can make all the throws. He is a really good athlete and seems to have good pocket presence and movement in the pocket. But when I watch him, I feel like he should do more. Same with Bridgewater. But I also feel like both are held back by lack of talent around them and by conservative playcalling.

You don't see the most accurate down-field passer?  Cause I do as does most everybody else.  The reason why he's still considered #2 behind Bridgewater is because Teddy is more accurate in the intermediate game, doesn't throw off his back foot, has played in a more pro-style offense the last two years, makes his own adjustments at the line more often, and still has great accuracy down the field.

As for Bortles, the only reason I can understand the comparison to Big Ben is his mobility in the pocket.  Bortles doesn't have the arm that Ben does.  Some have suggested that he's been playing through a torn abdominal muscle (or other soft tissue injury in his torso) which would have a big effect on his throwing power.  When I look at him, I see a mobile guy who can make a good throw about half the time.  Basically I see Locker when he came out.

Bortles has a lollipop arm.  I guess he would be an OK QB in a west coast horizontal passing offense.

The difference being that Locker always struggled with accuray at UW. He never had a year over 58% comp. He actually got worse as his college career progressed. Bortles is in the high 60's for comp % this year and has improved since last year.

I think he's more like Tannehill than Locker.

The way Tannehill has played, that's not a bad thing.

That article says Bortles or Manziel could be the 1st ranked QB.... listing Manziel a possibility for the top QB discredits it for me.
