LOL. You're hilarious. I'm sorry, but I'm not your English teacher. If you can't understand the context of what my OP was and this thread is about, in terms of why I brought this topic up, that's on you.

Honest answer, I attended a college for some continuing education. I don't see what that has to do with the topic at hand, or the fact that you made this thread because of your pro-gay/anti-church agenda.

Quite frankly, it helps me understand why you have a hard time keeping up with the conversations we have.

The fact that you think this thread, and my discussion in it, has something to do with an agenda against churches proved you have a hard time understanding core themes within a text based conversion.

This thread has nothing to do with anti church themes. Rather, it is a discussion of how politically problematic it is for a particular candidate to give a donation to a highly controversial group that has a clear bigotry towards another group, when that candidate has spent the last few months trying to claim he is actively trying to court that group into voting for him.

Since when is the Southern Baptist Convention a "highly controversial group"? Just because their belief is against a certain personal practice makes them bigots? Please name one source where they actually condemn homosexuality other than in a religious context. Please give an example of how their teachings and beliefs are "controversial".

I'll let you in on a little secret. Most Judaeo-Christian religions teach the same thing. I suspect that the Muslim religion as well as the Jewish religion have similar teachings.

For the record, I'm not affiliated in any way with any of the above religions, but I am quite familiar with all of them. I don't want to turn this into a religious discussion, rather my focus is on your claim that the institution involved is a "bigoted" or "hateful" group. Please show us an example of that.

it's because this particular church has a well-known interim pastor who has been "anti-gay"

the things he says I would not want my pastor saying. HOWEVER, he is just an interim pastor. the gift was given to the CHURCH, not the pastor. Interim pastors, and usually not even full-time pastors, have access to church funds. churches are usually run by a board who do the hiring, firing, and management.

fact is, this church is involved in relief for their community. i think Anchorman already admitted he was wrong about it. no need to beat the dead horse.

his name is Tony Perkins who runs something called the "Family Research Council" which is basically a lobbying group against things like gay marriage. the point is, that has nothing to do with the donation.

Good point, it's further clarification of what he thinks deep down...

In 2015, he (Perkins) interviewed extreme Messianic Jewish pastor Jonathan Cahn who told him that Hurricane Joaquin, which devastated Hawaii last year, was a "sign of God's wrath".

During the interview, Mr Cahn stated that the storm was a sign God was angry about the legalisation of gay marriage and abortion and the relationship between the United Nations and Israel.

He (Perkins) is quoted as agreeing, adding "God is trying to send us a message".

If the donation goes to help people that were devestated by the flood, I'm good with the donation. The look of the donation is bad.

Here's another thread about your boy that is clearly a bad look. Just accept that it's a bad look. If you want to say that at least he showed up and gave money. Fine.

But don't sit here and try to say that Perkins and his church are cool with Gays. And that the 100K trump gave them is gonna make gays think that trump is down with them. It's a bad look, politically.

Though it continues the message that trump, deep down, only cares about one segment of the country... That's my point. It's a bad look. Politically it's stupid.
