Teddy Bridgewater potentially done for the season?

Quote:Source confirms tibiofemoral dislocation, ruptured ACL for Bridgewater. "Trainers may have saved his leg and career by quick action."

Mike Kaye retreated that

Saved his leg?!? Wow.

I mean, are we to take that as amputation could have been a possibility?

One thing is certain: Teddy Bridgewater will spend the 2015 season on IR.

Quote:Sucks.  Was looking forward to watching him play in Nashville week 1.

Two years ago when I put my mock draft together,  I had Teddy Bridgewater going to Tennessee with pick # 11.   Even with what occurred at Bridgewater's pro day,   I thought he would be drafted much sooner than at the end of Round 1.     The Vikings got a bargain with him as a result of their trade up to pick # 32 at the end of the round.   Including,  having his rights ( option ) an extra season because he went in Round 1 of the draft

If there was nerve and arterial damage, that would not surprise me.

 2016 season,

Agree with the season ending I.R. designation.   The news still doesn't seem real,  especially the way it happened.

Remember when most people thought he could be the #1 overall pick? I don't think even the Vikings could have predicted his drop to the bottom of Round 1.

Well I'm glad that didn't happen because I'm happy with Mariota, but no doubt TB has a nice skill set.

We learned in the Sunday School who made the sun shine through.  I know who made the moonshine too, back where I come from.

    Absolutely,  regarding your question.

There were some people that thought Teddy Bridgewater would even slip to Round 2 in the latter part of the pre-draft process.   They were almost proven correct and would have been if not for the Seahawks willingness to trade down.

Oops, that was a typo. A torn ACL is not shocking because that part happens to many players, but a total knee dislocation and everything that happen seems unreal. All he did was drop back to pass.

  Understandably.

It shouldn't surprise anyone if the AFC South has the best collective starting QB situation a year or two from now.

Former Jets TE Dustin Keller was one of the few NFL players who had a knee dislocation in recent years.   It happened in a pre-season game the summer after he signed with the Dolphins as an UFA.    Unlike the Teddy Bridgewater play,   contact was the major factor in Keller's injury.  He never was able to overcome the injury from an NFL playing standpoint.

After that happened many fans were upset that the hit was legal.

Not sure most scouts thought that, just the drafnicks/non-scouts.

Frangie mentioned something about this yesterday, that a scout he spoke with had an undraftable grade on him solely because of his slight frame/wrists/ankles.  The worry was that he'd been banged up in college and was unsure he could hold up against NFL weight/speed/power defenders.

Quote:   Though Mike Glennon is scheduled to become an UFA in 2017,   he currently provides the Bucs a level of depth at the most critical position most NFL teams don't have.   With other teams potentially needing QB helping leading up to the NFL trade deadline,  the Bucs seems to have trade leverage.

Having said all of this,  whether the Vikings are comfortable paying a price more along the lines of what I mentioned is anyone's guess at this time.  My gut feeling though is because they have a high caliber roster at the other positions collectively,   they would be willing to give up plenty of trade compensation.

Even if Mark Sanchez is cut,   I'm just not sold on him as even a stopgap.   Sanchez is too mistake prone.    A caretaker at the position would at least give Adrian Peterson and their Defense a chance at getting to and advancing in the playoffs.    Glennon though could be noticeably more than a caretaker.   Yet, it gets back to asking price by the Bucs.

In recent past, they were willing to part ways with Glennon.

Now, more hesitant or reluctant.

I believe that's a combination of liking what they have (the new regime inherited him and didn't know much at first,) how he's developing, and expecting to drive the asking price higher as a result.

No worries. Text gets lost in tra slating sometimes. As for Teddy: sucks what happened to him. Hope he recovers. Seems like a genuinely good kid who loves the game.

Sol a scout was worried about Teddy's ankles but not his knees, which are the real problem.

Got a lot of support on the knees IRT hamstrings/quads attaching to them. Ankles/wrists don't have a lot of muscular support/stabilization to them.

I'm no doctor or scout, but I would think that concern would include all joints, etc.

It's not like the scout was trying to predict or exclude a knee, and it's obvious his not mentioning the knee didn't keep it from happening.  Do you think by mentioning the knee it would have prevented it from happening?

Ironically Carson Palmer was wearing a knee brace when Kimo von Olhoffen destroyed it.
