Colin Kap won't stand for National Anthem...just wow

Quote:Warrior and Jib, what makes you think Native Americans use to steal lands from eachother?

I am not very up-to-date on my North Native American history, but hard to imagine they didn't. I know the larger Central and Southern Native American tribes/empires such as the Incans, Aztecs, and Mayans jostled for land with each other and smaller tribes for centuries.

Are you implying that they didn't war or fight with each other over land?

So if Kaep squats to the anthem, does he squat to pee, too?

No but a SJW I know is and I'm too lazy to do my own research so I figured you guys might have cliffnotes.

Just tell him to look up the history of the Aztecs. They are one of the most brutal tribal empires of Central America. What they did to opposing tribes was extremely savage. After conquering their land, its members (especially the rebellious men) were often enslaved, murdered, sacrificed, or tortured.

Quote:I see/hear examples almost every day. It's not so much discrimination (refusing service to somebody because of race), but just outright racism where black people are called the "N" word behind their back by white people. It happens, but mostly with the older people that I work with. I personally see it looked down upon by most at my workplace and that's why I say that it's going away.

However, if you want a specific example one happened to my parents recently. I'm bilingual as are my parents. All of us were born and raised here in the U.S.. It's common for us to speak in Spanish or what I call "Spanglish" where sentences might start in one language and end in another. A woman had the gall to tell my mother and father in a restaurant recently that they needed to speak English when they were having a private conversation that was none of this woman's business anyway. My parents basically told this woman to go fornicate herself (which I was proud of) because we aren't mandated to speak a certain language in a social situation. If my parents or I need to conduct official government business and/or commerce we speak perfectly clear English.

Maybe I need to start a HLM movement because Hispanic Lives Matter.
You are one of the ppl I'm most interested in having prolonged conversation about social issues in this country. I don't mean that in an offensive way.

I must repeat, racism is not racial epithets and hoods. I'm really to the point now, I couldn't care less if I was called a [BLEEP]. That's because it's much bigger than that.

Short story. I went to see a friend over the weekend and showed him and his wife the BLM thread and this one. He tells me a story about one of his coach friends asking him to help him with a camp at a gym in the affluent part of town. During the day, my friend subs at schools in the area and works overnight at the high school. When they get to the gym, the head lady asks the guy to drop my friend and instead use a couple of the teenagers instead. He declines as he has brought my friend there specifically for his coaching prowess. The lady doubles down and says he needs to pass a background check. My friend begins producing his school issued id and the other guy assures her he knows him from working together at the schools. She balks saying the school's background policy is trumped by their own. My friend acquiesces. She tells him it takes three weeks to come back. The camp is 7 weeks long. The guy was never asked to do a background check. He was trying to put a little money in my friends pocket.

The issue isn't slavery or Jim crow. It isn't segregation or lynching or whatever else this current generation isn't directly responsible for. It's things like the above, blocking our ability to earn a living, it's decades of police brutality that we've said we've been enduring, access to loans to start a business, having to perform twice as hard as our counterparts to no avail. Yeah, we understand crime is a problem, but when are ppl going to see the very ppl who bring the crime to your attention are the same ones who enable it to happen. A lot salaries are greased by the crime machine. We're not asking anyone to wear a scarlet letter, just hear us out and help us make a change.

I failed to bring up education, but you get my point about racism.

Quote:Then you're not with me, our experiences have shaped our viewpoints just as much as their experiences have shaped theirs. Division continues to get us nowhere.

When you make a post like this, it's going to be ripped to shreds. It becomes part of the argument. Meanwhile, there will be posts about "it's a two way street, but black ppl" where the other side of the street never gets addressed. And the ones who are looking for a flaw in your argument won't dare bring that to light. It is better that we tone down our rhetoric so we can see who is truly open-minded. Those who are open to honest discourse will stay, those who aren't will suddenly vanish from the thread.

Thanks for clearing that up. My apologies for giving you a man's respect.

Because I don't know if you're a full blown conscious coon (see steven a. smith) or just a guy that hasn't achieved a level of knowledge to understand your enemy, I'll leave you with this advise in hope that you may be the later.

Get off your knees. I say this with love.

Listen to me closely, I meant you no disrespect. Your reaction tells me you didn't read what I said. I'll go ahead right now and apologize because I meant you no disrespect, but plz reread what I said.

This post sheds more light on what you're about. I think we're on the same side, but just at different levels of understanding. I apologies for the disrespect. It's the internet and you rarely come across the awakened. You still have much to learn, but I think you're going in the right directions for answers. Keep going. You'll understand soon enough.

You might be surprised by what I know and what I've experienced firsthand. For now, let's take my approach and see who's willing to listen and who's pretending. Also, note pirkster's response.

Pirkster is pretending brother. He know's it and everyone else here knows it but you. Do you really think there's a misunderstanding on both side of this or any social issue? Trust me there isn't. Do you think they're going to just come out and say, "We love killing and mistreating you."? This is called feigned ignorance.

Actually, what he is doing has a purpose. I've challenged quite a few posters to give me the extent of their experiences with black ppl. It's mostly been mum. If that's the case, they are vulnerable to the propaganda that posters like pork spews. Is everyone going to join us in a Kumbaya circle? No, but let's not help pirk's agenda. And there is at least some misunderstanding about the social issues, considering a lot ppl don't consider themselves racist because they don't use the word [BLEEP].

You state things as if you are speaking for the entire black community. You may respond otherwsie when someone counters you on it, but then you keep posting as if the black community is supposed to view things from one perspective. Or they are supposed to feel a certain way. Your excuse is you are typing on a phone? That honestly makes zero sense.

I have seen that mentality many times before in all walks of life and I believe it is used to intimidate the way people view. George Bush On Iraq War - If you aren't for us you are against us. Democrats on Trump Supporters - If you vote for Trump you are racist. Republicans on Bernie Sanders supporters - If you vote for Bernie you are a socialist (used in a derogatory manner). I've seen black people gang up on other black people on Facebook posts if they don't agree with things you are supposed to agree on within the community. It seems like a certain segment within the community believes there is a certain way to think, behave, act, believe in order to be black. The white man will never be for black people, the white man wants to keep black people down, most white people deep down are racist... And now we are seeing an us vs them. Cops aren't portrayed as some are bad and most are good. They are portrayed collectively as a problem. Slaying black people in the streets. We don't see too many of the good things that cops are doing. With the way it is portrayed in the media you would think innocent black people are being slaughtered left and right. I truly feel for those living in ghettos, raised in terrible situations and agree that even though we all have an opportunity, the odds are against many to succeed. There is more that can be done, but we aren't having honest conversations as a nation. We are at war, choosing sides and exaggerating truths to win whatever it is we think we are winning. If you have a different opinion on something then you get called certain names in order to tear your argument down regardless if it is thoughtful. You say one thing and you say another so honestly I have no idea what your true beliefs and thoughts are.

You state "There really isn't a black quotient per se in our community." If there isn't then why say per se? You are basically saying there is while trying to work around it to stay civil? Anyways, lengthy rant is now over.

Haha! No, it's ok, I was only curious.

I respect your opinion. If you indeed read the many posts in this thread and the BLM thread but chose to address me and my posts only, I respect that too.

I have a bit to say about Native American history, but I feel like it would derail this thread.  Hailtoyourvictor, I'll message you with an interesting video (well, I find it interesting, anyways).
